So...how the ♥♥♥♥ do you fight this guy? You cant roll his boar charges even though you are out of it. Hit box issue? Torrent is too damn slow for him. Seems like range is the only way? I find this boss to be heavily unbalanced. I literally died x3 in a row with him just boar charging back to back. No counter play. I do see windows to hit him but once he charges, its game over. Wtf?

Does jumping not work.i didnt really get to experience much of the fight because i just melted him fast on my character.But assuming the charge clip is undodgeable by roll because of the tusks than maybe the hitbox is focused low on ground because of the tusks meaning a normal jump might evade it.i dont know but just speculating.

You most definetely can. The hitbox is a bit wonky, but you can consistently i-frame it by dodging to the side. If he starts charging at point-blank range, you can roll forward with the same success.

if you don't wanna bother trying to dodge the charge, you can try hopping on torrent and running away until he stops it, you just need to find the proper direction that outpaces the charge

for me alternating between using torrent to outmaneuver him and going on foot to fight him when in melee was what worked best, which I guess is why they let you call him

Doesnt work when he boar charges at you a feet away sadly

It's shocking how many wonky hit boxes are in the DLC considering it took 2 years to develop. Commander Gaius might as well be called Commander Wonkyhitbox. If you really only have a problem with the charge move, grab a great shield and just block it.

Use a shield. The hitbox is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on that attack.

The studio wasn't only working on this though, and several things feel rushed.

Guys I defeated him, all I did was abuse moonveil. such a great boss! Great gameplay! My problem was literally only his boar charge, EVERYTHING ELSE HE DID WAS SO EASY. I like this DLC but come on man. This was 1 of the worst bosses ever.

Its very unfortunate that the only reason this boss was a problem is his broken hitbox. Besides that it would of been an okay/decent boss. Learn his patterns and you are good to go. I learned his patterns very easily but whenever the boar charge comes up. Uh oh, 50/50 if I can 0.1 milisec dodge and maximize my i-frame to dodge it. At first, I had a Greatsword and finally thought I might be the problem and never used the block button. Guess what, that ♥♥♥♥ is useless af, takes all my stamina and then cant even punish him. So i am forced to just take the charges. Really bad design, unfortunate I had to abuse/cheese moonveil.

Jumping does work but the problem is you need momentum to be able to strafe in the air if that makes sense. A normal jump doesnt cut it. Sometimes running jumps dont work. Whats even weird is I am able to do normal rolls and dodge the boar charge. Its really 50/50. On top of that, theres like weapons or gear on the ground that if you happen to get hit by the boar charge and the stuff on the ground, you get hit x2 x3 x4 times.

I have the flask that heals you when you die, so I literally have to die and then it heals me. Guess what happens? I die instantly from that charge/ground collision stuff.

when you are clearly out of the way you still get it, more like a glancing blow, if you watch when he dashes he has a wind barrier thing around him that hit every time. only way ive completely avoided it is by light rolling with increased iframes form the dodge talisman.

Get big shield and run a block counter build destroyed him on first run of the DLC with that character second time as a caster had a much rougher time.

roll into the boar with 20-30 degrees angle. light roll helps a lot.

How come I was able to consistently roll through it without said talisman, then? Is my game less broken? Genuine question.
