It needs to be in the game, as an acknowledgement from Fromsoft.
you're just specifically complaining that people like the game differently then you if thats not the solution.
an "acknowledgement from fromsoft" means nothing to the gameplay, its just weird posturing on your part to desire it, rather then using the solution
But just having the option I think is a win-win at this point.
If they were in the game I bet you a large part of the community would be singing praises. I think it absolutely means something. It would also mean people who play on console also gets to enjoy the benefits.
games are allowed to have their own unique design intent, but if you don't like it that way, the mod is there to help you.
People who have no chance on the DLC for example might still struggle even on an "easy mode".
