if you dont dual wield, what are you even doing in the dlc :D
I started as Samurai in the base game and later leveled faith build and hat 20 in both dex/strg to use most weapons and i messes around a bit.

I already liked dual GS in the main game and i started the DLC with it. It felt op and i used the dual lightning axes of that one boss a while.

But i wanted to try more and a lot of weapons seem dex/mage stuff so i tried the hammers and, jesus christ, with some buff this stuff melts most bosses and dont even talk about regular enemies. Only a few can even hope to cope with it like the horned knigts.

I kinda feel bad for playing easy mode but i never use coop or even ashes because its not needed.

I beat other bosses "legit" and that was fun too, like Putirt Knight or Dragon man. Relanna was half fair i would say. I used GS but still needed to react somewhat propperly.

But going all the was with small axex or regular katana would be a lot harder i guess.

What's your way you deal with the DLCs?

I might go back so same enemies and try dance around with them before heading over that bridge into Rauh floating islands.

oh i'm dual weilding alright!
i'm rocking the same double pickaxes i used to beat the game for the first time, you can't beat the classics (tho the dlc weapons are looking amazing)

I switch weapons, a lot.
Most are the twin types
Beast Claws, Renella Twin swords, reverse blades, the twin lightning axes…
If not using them I’m using The death knight’s blade, and sometimes use the black blade for destiny death

I simply dislike most, if not all, powerstance movesets. They don't look smooth and refined at all.

Unless we're talking about Rellana's Twin Swords, now that's a different story.

Dual wielding great knives since day 1 basically! I've tried a few of the DLC weapons now. They're flashing and cool looking, but simply too slow to be actually useful. I always go back to daggers.

I just tried these red guards in the keep. They are a pain without stagger tbh .:steamfacepalm:

Yeah, I just use the death knight sword ash on them to kill them quickly.

My whole playtime I used dual wielding weapon XYZ.. I dual wielded everything. Then I got the two hander talisman in the dlc. I started using two handing everything now and I gotta say the new ultra gs, black steel hammer and the bloodfiends arm.. are OP af.

I let Malenia live for my current dlc playthrough to test out some weapons and new AoW.. and a blood infused bloodfiend arm with savage lions claw MELTED her. It's insane. The dancing lion didnt even survive for 30 seconds. To bad I killed almost all the bosses before I got that thing.

playing with the new Thor faith Spinny hammer?

I'm using backhand blades, which is dual wield. But honestly, I think single unsheathe katana was stronger. The backhand blades have a few cases where you can get in extra hits by dodging a boss attack, but unsheathe did more damage and way more stagger, plus the katana has innate bleed and I tended to get 1-2 bleed procs per fight before I switched which is a lot of damage (if I put bleed on my backhand blades it'd probably be stronger than katana, but I'm running quality).

Also a lot of bosses have a phase 2. In the case of messmer, I think his phase 2 is actually easier, but ones like rellana the phase 2 is way harder. If you can set set up a stagger+bleed near the start of phase 2, which is kind of weapon agnostic to do (but quite easy with unsheathe), you just stagger, throw in a jump attack or something, crit, full charge heavy as they get up, and probably bleed at some point in there and suddenly the boss is at 20%.

Also I think the easy mode weapon of this dlc is supposed to be the bleed hammer that applies like 200 bleed per hit.

That one and the black knight hammer together are a force to be recond with.
