DLC is too artifically hard and you can't change my mind
Insane damage and health pools is not fun

Recycled bosses is not fun.

New unique bosses with new movesets are fun, with reasonable damage and health pools

DLC is not fun and they should patch it if they want to make it playable for more than 1% of the player base

Dude so lethargic, his last victim actually managed to escape.

Edit: I'm talking about invasions, of course.

The scaling seems to go out of whack after the capital in general and the DLC is absolutely nuts, like you need 45 vigor minimum to just not get one shot by like half the attacks and even with 60 there were a few moves that one shot me. I tried playing it at release but gave up because it wasn't fun. I came back to it like a month ago though and just installed a 50% damage reduction mod for the DLC and I'm actually having fun now.

IDK man, I beat most of the bosses at level 1. All my kills are sub 2 minutes. On a high level character they'd be like 30 second fights. That's too long for you?

I'm aware that this is a necro, but what's the gear you're using, specifically the talismans? Also, are you absolutely sure that you're getting onetapped, and what attacks are we talking about?

Then again, only having 45 vig and expecting to get anything but oneshot is not realistic, especially when we're talking about the dlc here, as an optional post-endgame area in regards to difficulty.
I was playing an all-around character with maybe 40-45 vig- with the right gear and especially talismans I wasn’t having these problems except for certain specific enemies- like the 50 foot fire monster dude and the like. Then as you pick up some of those booster things it becomes VERY manageable.
Disregard lvl 1 guy from above

I'm surprised people are still whining at this. I thought everyone already beat the game nine times over...

If youre just curious this was the last character I played the DLC with: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3417983723

I don't have the one I gave up on. The oneshotting stuff I only meant bosses, I don't really count normal enemies since they mostly just a test on how well you can manage your resources until you get to the boss.

I'm not looking for advice though I had fun with the 50% damage reduction and I'm quite happy playing with it, not really looking to change that or doing another playthrough without it.

Gotcha. I was trying to check on whether or not you had any Scarseals/Soreseals equipped, or other talismans that lower absorptions and make you all kinds of squishy.

Yes, there is. its literally a term that exists. an example would be making a boss "harder" by simply having 2 instead of 1. If the design is not actually better, and the only reason it is more difficult is because of cheese, or if the cpu can cheat, etc that IS artificial difficulty. You can say there is none in the dlc, but youre wrong about it not being a thing
Actually, while the term does exist for a reason, way too many use it as cope word to the point it is mostly used wrong and becomes meaningless.

Artificial is the difficulty which forces un-natural (or artificial) approaches to overcome it, such as if they would ask player to do 3 jumps on place, turn and use a shiny-stone to avoid insta-death-curse-attack or something. That would be artificial because it forces actions outside of normal combat flow. Or if they would require player to open menu and show 30 cps on an item to pass, things like this.

In that sense simply adding more enemies or making them harder to fight is not artificial difficulty because the way to deal with them is to fight as the game is intended aka naturally, so it might be high or even ultra-high but still natural difficulty.
Ironically you kind of proved with your post that there is actually artificial difficulty in this dlc namely the scubidoo fragments.

OR for each of those fragments it makes the whole dlc much easier….. it’s just another way of looking at the issue. That’s like saying the base game is artificially difficult until you find better gear and level up. But it doesn’t matter- we’re just playing word games about different ways of making your character stronger whether it’s finding one of those seeds or finding an amazing weapon or spell.
people like op is why 90% of games suck nowadays, sometimes i wish games stay the same as when they come out day 1 no patches no updates no nothing. i miss when bosses didnt wait their turn in gank fights, day 1 radahn, prebuff scadutrees.. because challenge creates replayability and all of those complaining are either never gonna finish the game or cheesing it to the end and never play it again. ull just end up ruining the game for those that actually love it

I kind of see where you are coming from, but that is a terrible idea with games developed by FromSoftware. Simply because at release, Elden Ring was absolutely riddled with game breaking bugs which have since been patched out. Fire's Deadly Sin Bloodflame Blade glitch, Carian Retaliation Glitch, etc.
This is the first time I’ve heard anyone say Elden ring was big riddled. Maybe I missed it- but I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before.
If the DLC is artificially hard then im artificially amazing.
