why did i get banned?

i downloaded the new patch and am immediately greeted by a message saying i have been penalized for 180 days, why? i tried restarting the game, verifying, files but i still get that alert and i cannot play multiplayer.

I had pre-purchased the DLC, but upon seeing this warning, I had to refund it, also still there is no ultrawide support, it's ridiculous

cheaters are banned. don't install cheats and you will be fine.

Even AC6 has ultrawide support. I really don't understand why it's still broken on Elden Ring 2 years and a $40-50 DLC later... :sigh:

Same thing here banned for inappropriate behavior??? I don't play online, I didn't install any mods, I played on the steam deck and Windows PC. My laptop has a 16:10 screen, so I have the image stretching option checked in the NVIDIA drivers, but it has been working for a long time. What should I do now?

Do yourself a favour and read the thread. The Op's issue has been solved already, they weren't banned, and neither are you. Inappropriate activity is a thing EAC does. Restart your game and pc and you should be good.

If you received a 180 day ban message. That is the actual ban message. The inappropriate activity is what happens if your files don't align.

Having things like deathbed smalls, edited items, or items injected while anti cheat is active result in the 180 day message.

It's likely he hasn't played in the last 180 days since ban was received and it just cleared on start up/refresh.

what ever u use, controller mods, game mod or else which was in contact with your savefile which is getting scanned while u setting the game online can get u a 180 days bann. happend to me, so i enjoy killing overtuned bosses solo and beeing happy to delete my savefile after im done. since everything which sociated with any third partytool/mod what so ever will bring u a perma bann after the 180 days

I just got banned immediately upon being summoned to another player's world. No third party software, had literally only had half a dozen multiplayer sessions since I only discovered the mechanic today. The DLC update has given bad actors a way to get others banned simply by engaging in multiplayer.
