why did i get banned?

i downloaded the new patch and am immediately greeted by a message saying i have been penalized for 180 days, why? i tried restarting the game, verifying, files but i still get that alert and i cannot play multiplayer.

i got banned but i didnt do anything...... bruh no one gets banned for no reason. not sure what u did but u did something.

Multiplayer is disabled untill the dlc server goes live. I also got the 180day notice.

i played last time just fine, i have never cheated or done anything similiar in this game. stop assuming things.

youre misinformed, EAC violations are happening when running game with linux (like thru steam deck)

if you are playing on linux then there are false bans going out because of that which is going to get hotfixed later today i believe.

Yeah, that's not a thing everyone receives. I just got done installing the patch, didn't get the 180 day penalty message and helped someone out in coop. You guys should definitely look into this.

Inapropriate network activity is just some EAC bug introduced with the patch, affecting every proton user linux/steamdeck and some people seems to get it on windows. Hopefully we have not all been banned.

Did you ever try to use third party save files? Did you ever share your library with someone else via steam's family share feature? Did you every try to use trainers, cheat engine, etc.?

i have noit used a third party save, i only have one save with 160 hours, i have tried to share once but it was a pain so i didn't in the end, i have cheat engine installed but i have not tried or used it in this game.
