"Corrupt Content Update" upon trying to download patch?

I was about to run with a friend to help with some story content before the DLC drops later. But I can't get past this issue. It repetitively validates, I've even validated myself and it just continues trying to validate the update.

Any suggestions?

If I uninstall and reinstall will I lose my character?

You won't lose your character when deinstalling, it's saved in an entirely different location.
Did you try to close steam, restart your PC and verifying again?

That being said, consider creating a manual backup of your save file anyway.
Turn off Steam's cloud save feature.
On windows, type %appdata% into the search bar, go to roaming, then Copa and past the directory called EldenRing somewhere safe (personal cloud, external storage).

No uninstall and reinstall dosent delete save but if you what to backup up your save ther are loacated in %appdate% elden ring nomaly "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing"
