Do i have to kill the Elden Beast to start playing the Addon/DLC?

Yeah this is kind of a shameful thing for me to admit as an oldschool dark souls fan.. Cause i obviously killed all the main bosses before. But honestly.. I dont even care!

With the Elden Beast it was just.. Its not even that hard! There is a clear way how to beat it but i needed a couple of tries but i was just done with it, after i tried 200 times to kill melania :D and yes i have no problem calling melania to hard for me at that time in my life at least. Of course its just a matter of tries and at some point i would also have killed her anyways, but she broke me and i didnt want to continue (even if i easily finish her first stage without taking damage).

So i pretty much played a game that took double the time a normal Dark Souls Game took and i kinda treated Melania like the Main Boss, cause i always was like "If i beat her i can beat everyone".

And yes i was able to kill Elden beasts first Stage.. I took no damage no more, but after like 50 tries i was just done.. I truly gave up cause i was bored! A thing that never happened to me before in Dark Souls or Elden Ring history! Simply because i really traveled everywhere for 300s of hours and pretty much killed every other boss!

The problem: If ill try it now, without playing the game for a long time, it will be hard for me again. And i have absolutly no interest in defeating the beast without proper training. Of course i created some kinds of strategy.. To get back into the game before the Addon.. Multiple 1 - 10 or 20 Steps of Enemys and Heroes i wanna finish again, before i start the Addon! But i definitely dont have the nerve to restart the entire game and i think theres a good chance i could kill the elden beast now.. But i would rather not or just kill it with a friend..

So does anyone know if its necessarily to kill the Elden Beast First? Again: its not about it being the hardest boss at all. Its not easy, but its more about being simply done with the game and loosing all my interest after i couldnt defeat melania!

BTW: Im pretty sure during or after the DLC i will kill Melania and the Elden Beast, cause now im interested in the game again! My willpower is totaly refreshed! And yes i obviously totaly get that Addon and DLC-Bosses are often the hardest ones! Thats why im sure i will kill them later.. I just dont wanna kill the before the Aaddon!

No, all you need to do to access the DLC is defeat Mohg and Radahn. Anything else does not affect it.

The only bosses necessary to enter the dlc are Radahn and Mohg.

Who knows, maybe holy won't be universally resisted in the DLC.

Do you know if holy wont work in dlc? plus one is the perfect farming weapon

we know nothing about dlc. As it stands right noww they're crap weapons

poeple saying no don't know what they are talking about. You are supposed to either die to the elden beast or fall off the map. Then torrent licks your face and the game begins.

if you happen to kill elden beast, you get the oriental sword and shield they carry with one of their 8 arms.

that's grafted scion not elden beast. elden beast is the final boss
