So no need to disable EAC manually. Just launch Mod Engine 2's batch (.bat) file and EAC will be bypassed and whatever mods you have in the mod folder will be applied.
Keep in mind, however, that many mods use the same save file as the vanilla game, so disable Steam Cloud for Elden Ring and backup your save. When you're done with modding, restore your save and re-enable Steam Cloud.
If yes I'll just make it so it loads with seamless coop even if I play alone
Again, it depends on the mod.
Most modded items and skins replace an already existing item or skin in the vanilla game. Mods will do this because they are easier to implement.
A few mods add brand new items with their very own unique item_id. Save files created while using such mods will be considered corrupted or cheated in the vanilla game.
Using Seamless Coop is a good idea since it uses a separate save file to prevent save corruption plus it bypasses EAC automatically. No need to fuss with save files, Steam Cloud, and EAC.
I know that I can't use mods online but the one I intend to use do not alter the gameplay nor they add stuff, i.e. they shouldn't be able to alter the save file
So the question is: will I be able to use the same save while playing online after turning off the purely aesthetic mods?
Telling me that I can't play with mods while online won't answer the question
One time I was messing around with a mod that adds a new katana with a Sekiro moveset and forgot to delete the item from my inventory before launching vanilla game. All that happened is the game crashed a few times and then finally loaded that save file, and the item was simply gone from a weapon slot.
It was about 8-9 months ago, and I never received any warnings or bans for that.
