What's with Seluvis and the dolls?
Does he fashion dolls after his victims or does he turn his victims into dolls?
What I'm getting at is Ranni. What is the body she inhabits? Either way, I think Ranni betrayed the Witch with Seluvis's help.

He turns people into dolls.
Well, all that help her are involved in her schemes, bof course. Seluvis's ego and arrogance is his undoing, though.

He's able to make the body's into puppets and separate the souls into summonable ashes, which for what reasons we can only assume.

Just hope it isn't weird.

I wonder if he's responsible for the marionette soldiers too?..

Interesting. I thought it was the doll itself we're summoning but that doesn't really jive does it? Is the snow witch a summon, hiding in plain sight?

He wants to replace important people with dolls under his control. The Sellen doll was probably for some plan that he abandoned after she got excluded from the academy. Ranni's body is a doll too but Seluvis does not control it. Maybe he built it for her when he was still loyal to her and less power hungry.

Metaphor for blackmail probably

Judging by his quest, it would seem that those are the bodies of actual people, unfortunately.

There's a reason as to why Seluvis is the only FromSoftware charactet you can straight up kill on sight and have nobody in the community bat an eye.

It's safe to assume that is doll Therolina, as she's the only one in physical form and doesn't talk. She's already in Seluvis' fun room at the start of the game.

I've always assumed she was Seluvis' contribution for Radahn's Festival, because the sh*tlord is too precious to show up himself.

I don't think Ranni's body was built as much as it was potioned, similar to the others.

I think the Seluvis (big hat guy) we see is also actually a doll. And so it is possible that when he's "dead" he has merely migrate to another body. Who could it be though?

Or is that actually her at the festival, and she gets turned into a doll at some time during the course of the game ? Tbh I haven't checked if her spirit ash is for sale before the festival.

Can a spirit ash be out back in the doll to make them complete again, like how you can do with Sellen?
Dolls don't speak and I would venture to guess it has to do with the separation of spirit and body. Ranni's spirit is in the doll which is why she has autonomy.
I think Ranni betrayed the Witch to cover her tracks ( secret mentor and all ) and for self preservation.

I don't know. Not sure how those dolls are created. If the potion simply turns people into dolls that would mean that Ranni's body was a person once. But it does not look like one. It looks more like an actual crafted doll unlike the very lifelike Sellen doll for example.

Ranni's body is 100% artificial. Her "soul" or whatever we're calling it in this game is trapped (of her own volition by the sounds of it) in the doll via the closed eye. This is why in her ending you can see a "double" of her projecting from that eye.

Also there are multiple "bodies" she resides in if you pay close attention. No clue how she jumps from one to the next though.

I just watched her ending. She does NOT look like a possessed body with the stitching at the joints. Well. I'm still stumped. Maybe we'll get more in the DLC.
