Bloodhound's Fang
that thing is OP as F ! I'm lvl 43 and was struggling a lot at every boss encounter around Limgrave with my +3 Uchigatana. I managed to beat that Bloodhound and got his sword. I've brought it to +4 and daaaammmn, i'm steamrolling everything around limgrave now. I've beaten 6 boss(or miniboss) on the first attempt now, i can't believe it !! i'm the type of guy who needs 40 attempts for any boss and now it's a one-shot deal. Incredible weapon, going to stick to it for sure !

BHF is one of the weapons which will carry you until the very end of the game. There barely is any other weapon as trusty and effective as Bloodhound's Fang, given it's simple stat investment while dealing a single damage type. Iirc, it's the only somber weapon which can be buffed by spells or resins, procs bleed and it's weapon art deals a ton of poise damage, it's an absolute beast.

and its bloodhound's finesse seems to break poise of anyone out there. i'm gonna go back to Stormveil Castle and show those knights I had so much trouble with who the BOSS is ! take that !!

I stopped playing a while ago towards the end of NG+5 and still using it lol

There are much better weapons out there. It's good for the beginning of the game but falls of near end game.

I have difficulties NOT using the Bloodhoundsfang on every playthrough. Not only is it OP, it's also just a very fun to play weapon.

yes its art is amazing. One slash then backflip and then rushing forward while invisible.

The only catch is that you'll eventually hit bosses that resist slash damage and are immune to bleed, notably the final boss.

No. You will have to change weapons. Some end-game bosses require that.Or summon help.

It's one of the dozen or so overpowered stuff. ER is like a modern Final Fantasy game, there's only overpowered and must use stuff, or useless stuff. In fact, people are correct in saying there's a lot of build options in ER, the catch is that only a very few are good, lol.

I did not encounter a single challenge in Limgrave since I got that blade +4. Im gonna clear the entire area before moving forward. it feels good to be OP. I dropped the game the first time because I was just dying all the time and did not know how to level properly and take advantage of gear.

No, you can beat this game with fists if you have enough patience and skill. Bloodhound fang (BHF) can carry you through the entire game for sure. It is amazingly strong weapon. There are picks that may or may not be better but why bother if the BHF suits you.

As for the OP, jumping from +3 normal weapon to +4 somber weapon would make anything look insane. The uchi is still a great weapon and if it was upgraded similarly, it too would slap.

Man, you will get to the area called Haligtree close to endgame - you use the fang's special there you fall to your death. The fang is useless there. But Haligtree is optional, beautiful though and such a waste if you skip it.

thx for the heads up. I will keep other weapons at hand for sure.

I want to see the entire game so I'm not gonna skip any area for sure.
