But who knows what'll happen this time with Elden Ring being open world and all. It would be nice if the added content was made available in the base game as well.
You can get to the dlc before entering atlus though so in theory you could use the new weapons on about half of the base game if not more
Why wouldn't you be able to enter it before Altus?
But honestly, i'm not good enough to try Mohg that early. 1st phase is probably free, but 2nd phase shreds me with all the flying around. Not to mention "Nihil" without the physik tear and underleveled vigor? xD
You could do Margit -> Godrick -> Varre's Questline for access to Mohg -> Yura's Questline for anti-nihil physick -> Mohg, Lord of Blood.
You barely have to fight to do that. It would just be fighting Margit, Godrick and the NPC's in Yura's questline.
Drink it after he dies to establish dominance!
Remnant 2 did something like this, you get a cool cultist chainsaw scythe in the Bloodborne DLC but they added a generic version of it to the hub shopkeeper's inventory that's accessible regardless if you own it or not.
