can't summon spirits?!?

i mean, why would i bother summoning them anyways if i can't use them when necessary..

is the icon showing at all? make sure you don't have a FURLCALLING FINGER REMEDY active.

so if you go to gatefront the icon on left bottom will come up to show you that you can summon spirit ashes so no icon no summon

In addition to what everyone else already said, you can not summon spirit ashes when you acticated a Furlcalling Finger Remedy beforehand.
Also, you can only summon them on areas which permit for summoning them. This is indicated by a blue translucent tombstone symbol located in the middle left side of your screen:

no i don't have the finger thing active, so you can only summon them at certain areas on the map?
if that's the case why bother using that anyways :/
