Will the DLC take place AFTER the main story ending?
I'm wondering how they implement the DLC into the main game. I read somewhere that it'll be about Miquella and that you have to kill Mogh in order to start it. I wonder what it'll be from there, will it be a enclosed storyline? Will it unlock a new ending(s) for the main story? Or will it take place after the main story and we may get challenged in our position as Elden Lord?

I'm currently doing a kinda hasty ng+ to complete the last two missing endings to 100% the game and unfortunately I did not make a hard safe of my almost perfect run before ng+, its not a big deal gameplay wise but I did all the quests I wanted to do there and I really can't be bothered to do them again I think, but this heavily depends on how the DLC is incorporated into the main story. We will see.

What are you thoughts?

iirc Miyazaki said in his interview that the DLC is basically its own self-contained story, that doesn't have much impact on the outer world.

I wonder what happened to those "Barbarians of the Badlands" DLC leaks a while back. I was actually looking forward to visiting that area and finding what the hell managed to kill Godfrey after he was banished from TLB by Marika. Plus, there was that unused Godfrey dialogue. It would be cool if they somehow managed to incorporate it in SotE,

People keep saying the cocoon in Mohgs chambers.

Personally I'm placing my bet on the giant face underneath stormveil.

Rewatch the trailer again, and pay attention to the lines at the end. Also, you can read the Miyazaki interview. Miquella's arm is the entry point. I do agree it would be cool if they did something more with the face, but the 'those who live in death' questline is pretty well wrapped up.

Miyazaki confirmed that the entrance is Miquella's cocoon and the requirement is killing Mogh and Radahn.

How does Radahn factor into this? seems like an odd requirement unless I'm forgetting something. Or we have no idea yet?

No idea. Probably has to do with freeing the stars, or the reason Malenia was focused on Radahn during the Shattering.

could be that they going to focus on the whole falling star thing more, since Radahn was somehow at war with those and theres a theory that now that Radahn is gone theres not much holding them back, but yeah thats total speculation.

not sure but wasn't Malenia send by Miquella to fight Radahn? Maybe Miquella has a plan for the stars or something but when Mogh captured him he wasn't able to execute the plan, letting everything go to ♥♥♥♥

Miyazaki confirmed that it takes place alongside the events of the main game, not after it.

Edit: I found the quote from the Famitsu interview:

"Famitsu: So there have been many details just revealed, please let me ask more. You just mentioned Queen Marika's history, does this mean the DLC takes place in the past?

Miyazaki: No, it takes place in the same time as the main title. The setting is not in the distant past or future.

The shadow lands and Queen Marika's past will be told in the same manner as The Shattering was in the main title."
