The most runes you've ever lost to silly deaths?

What is the most tragic, embarrassing, and potentially hilarious(for others) way to lose a huge number of souls/runes?

I've seen some stories, of people who had been hoarding for hours only to fall off a ledge, then get wombo-combo'd by a useless enemy on the way back.

Such moments are legendary and will be easy to recall, if it's happened to you

i think i lost like 50 million in one of those saints graves with the chariots

spent a few hours grinding souls in DS3, suddenly felt the need to pee so got up, forgot i had symbol of avarice on, get back to see no souls and a bloodstain on the bonfire... a place i didnt go AFK at...

oh noooo as soon as I read "symbol of" my heart sank. have had something similar happen before with a few thousand in DS1 and learned my lesson there with that item

A lot, when i fell off the cliff in mohgwyn palace near the albinaurics, i fell again when i respawned

My first 900k lost, it really wasn't a whole lot at the time, could get it back in a few minutes of grinding. Haligtree, slippery branches, game really isn't made for that crap. You walk forward and all of a sudden your character just takes a sharp diagonal move to the right and you fall off.

The other time was Gostoc stealing around 600k after i got blown up by some tnt barrels.

i don't really remember, thing ran me over the edge and i fell and when i tried getting the runes back it ran me over the edge again

I can save&quit to prevent gravity deaths usually, but they put the killbox like 1 meter down from the ledge

brutal ds2 invasion mechanics, where being hollowed/dying more just increased likelihood of being invaded until it was changed in a late patch

Acquired about 48mil Runes just from helping randos with Radagon.

Felt bored.

Went to the Haligtree because I remembered I've yet to beat Malenia on this character.

Fell off the tree branch leading to that Ulcerated Tree Spirit because I was running all over the place.

Fell off again trying to retrieve my Runes because I did the exact same thing.

Depression kicks in
Smiles fade
Speeding kills

gotta spend them - if not on levels, then upgrade mats

Upwards of around 2 million after a really miscalculated jump in Deeproot that I couldn't quit out from fast enough. More than ironic considering about 5 minutes prior I was debating over buying mats and other consumables in the event of an accidental loss.
