Tried it again after 1 year

so a year ago, I tried elden ring for the first time. I left a review on it so you can do the research if you are that interested and find out what my thoughts were. Essentially I am just here to say that I am going to 100% the game soon and that my overall opinion on the game HAS NOT CHANGED. IT STILL SUCKS.

Let me be real. Buying the game and giving it a real chance the 2nd time just showed me how much MORE was wrong with the game. Every time I buy, and get lost in a new video game, I am disappointed by the blatant poor decisions made by these designers.

The list of issues this game has is so long, I forget about them until it happens again. Why cant I open my map whenever I want? Idc if i get hit in the face. I'm quick enough and would eventually be able to easily pull my map up mid fight and start planning... sorry if your brain is too small for that but them just denying me opening my map is downright stupid. Lets not even get into being grabbed through dodges, and rune bears in starter caves that have items that you would actually want to use.

I FC the game my first time playing through it. Collected every single item off the ground. I got the ENTIRE FULL EXPERIENCE adventuring every single corner of the map, and its small.... 90% of the content is in the first 2 hours of gameplay. The rest is linear. Each extension of the map gets smaller and smaller. The snow area is literally 2 lanes, 1 of which is locked until you kill fire giant......

Oh and the micro stutters and gpu randomly tanking, and I'm playing in slowmotion because it started loading something across the map.

The game is far from fair, and it def adds to the accomplished feeling from maxing out their attempt at cheesing players giving them a chance to provide them life long entertainment, instead they add the monster from their worst nightmare and have you deal with it.

Enemy Ai is still just ai, which is mind boggling to me considering technology nowadays. They try to encourage people to play differently, but you do that and get rekt. Try a stealth class..... enemy ai and enemy pathing will end your run quick.... they know you're there. they just aren't acknowledging you. They will change their pathing and stand there and wait for you to move so they have an excuse to skip frames, turn their body instantly, and smash you with their hardest hitting move which they also save until they are low health to use, adding to the cheese.

what is the point of armor? I take the same amount of damage wearing my best set, as I do running around naked and a blindfold. Those numbers serve no purpose and they created an entire system on "armor" that does not make a difference in 99% of scenarios. Give me 1 reason why I shouldnt download a fat titty anime mod and just play it that way. at this point, they're encouraging it.

This game would have been an absolute banger if the enemies were less cheesy to fight, items found around the world were worth a damn, and if the content stayed consistent throughout the entire game, not just limgrave. I don't think we will ever have "stable" games that run efficiently every again. because I have not been able to stop complaining about this every since the world went digital. The excuse of "most people quit the game" is not a good excuse to drop all the content at the first 2 hours of the game, and for the rest to be a waste of time.

I wanna do cool stuff, and this game opens up a lot of possibility for that, but at what cost? there are maybe 10 enemies in this entire game that have fun fighting styles, and are enjoyable to play against. I love challenges, I love trying to figure out how to do ____ but when I am just being tossed around, and nothing is learned, its not fun. Most of my deaths in this game are from heights, getting stun locked from a crowd of enemies that decided to join the party from the next cave over, or being hit through my dodge like it didn't matter.

This games combat is also chunky and I can feel my moves being queued. I can press light attack, and dodge roll after and sit here and watch my character do it and have my hands completely off my keyboard and mouse.... I can understand an attack having wind up, but slow unresponsive combat is not a good feeling. The movement in this game feels like my character is carrying bricks on his shoulder. its not free at all.

1 step at a time. Don't run into that cave with the glowing item at the end of it. There are 8 enemies off screen that will all jump on you at once. You have to either walk in, and walk out again which results in you getting hit most of the time, or you can use resources to get their attention and fight 1 at a time which is boring.... Theres only 1 right way to play.... yet they try to "encourage" people to play different.

Lets also mention how people have ego's over being a close combat fighter which I can def get behind, it really doesnt matter at ALL. I have yet to do a magic playthrough but I am considering it because it would only make me improve at switching off hand weapons and playing more fluently.... don't show anyone though because you'll get clowned for using spells.

half the stuff in this game would be impossible if it wasn't for cheese, and the internet. If this game was mario maker, it would have never released. Creator couldnt complete it, why should he expect others too?

Let me finish this off with some positivity.... I had SOME fun playing through the game, it was easy to 100% and the people who have egos for being a fromsoft player have truly nothing else to value in life. You press a series of 20 or so buttons better than the next person. congrats. video games are easy moron.

This game is decent. Code vein is more fun. Majority is never correct. as always.

Elden Ring is a game of a specific genre which is not for everyone.

Its not the games fault when you are not informed enough what the product is that you are buying.

For example:

You go to the market and there is a stone to sell which looks like a bread. The description says its a stone - looking like a bread...

You are buying the stone and rage afterwards that you not got a bread.

You get my point?

In short - dont bother others with your ♥♥♥♥ if you are unable to inform you about a game in 2024...

I mean you compare elden ring with code vein........

the combat reminds me of the golden days in 2012. Instant input feedback, animation canceling, Free feeling movement, Every weapon, every class, every thing is usable, bosses and enemies don't feel cheesy, and its far from easy.... they literally give you a mandatory companion because the enemies have small windows between attacks, so they intent for you to share the agro. Once you get really good, and you can do solo runs, and solo the boss, its literally the satisfaction you all are looking for that you got from dark souls.... you just didnt give it a try, or else you'd love it as much as me.

Code vein reminds me of black ops 2 because it is near perfect. Not even any performance issues which is rare.

You can probably read my name though, id rather gate keep it. When I hear youtubers, and streamers talk about trying it, i click away because i dont want to watch them enjoy something they should have already been playing if they had good taste.

If the majority is never correct then Code Vein sucks, most people who played it rated it positively, it's currently at 85% positive reviews on Steam. I guess the majority is wrong in this case too then?
