to have quickstep on an Uchi (or any katana) but also have it scale at least partially off of faith? I know how to put quick step on it, that much is straightforward, and I know how to put faith scaling by giving it another skill. But is there a way to have a quickstep katana that scales with faith?

infuse it with a fatih scaling infusion. quickstep doesnt do damage so have at it...

To do that I'd just need the santified whetblade or no? The learning curve to this game is a bit much, but this is one of the few aspects of build that I'm still not sure of.

Given the lackluster single-strike damage of Katanas in the game, I recommend something else like Piercing Fang to complement the moveset, although you can't go wrong having quickstep

I'm playing on seamless co-op, really more into going it solo unless I'm playing with the one friend who also plays. But 100% appreciate the offer, people seem to be really cool about that with this game.

The Sanctified Whetblade can be found in the Fortified Manor in pre-spoiler event Lyendell. Make sure to get it before defeating Maliketh in Farum Azula, otherwise you won't be able to acquire it in your current ng cycle.

Another option is to keep the uchigatana non-elemental with Quickstep on it, and using Holy Grease or Lightning Grease to give it temporary faith scaling (lightning would probably be the best since it scales off both faith and dexterity).

A third option is having a dagger in your right hand (with Quickstep on it), the katana in your left (with a sacred ash attuned), using the dagger for quicksteps and the katana for actual fighting. There's even a wakizashi in a cave right at the start of Caelid if you want something that thematically matches a katana.
