i am new to seamless and was wondering if i were to copy my save file from vanilla (just a copy so i will have an sl2 file and a co2 file ) and i get far in the game on the seamless, and if i were to delete the game and redownload it some other time will my save file still be good and just really far back in the game or will it be corrupted or something

As far as I understand (someone correct me if I've got my head up my own fourth point of contact), Seamless makes its own save files; I'd assume as long as you're still using Seamless when you redownload--and the version Seamless is on is compatible with the one that made your save file--you should be good.

You can copy your original save to Seamless and from there it'll be standalone specifically for Seamless while your vanilla save remains untouched, but doing the opposite, trying to copy a Seamless save to vanilla, could get you soft/hard-banned due to your save being tampered with(modded items/stats) if EAC or FromSoft somehow detects it.

if i were to redownload elden ring in the future will i just have the original save file? or will i need to redownload seamless along with it
I don't think steam cloud backs up the Seamless co op save, since it is a different file. I back it up to a thumb drive. The seamless co-op save ends in .co2, the regular game ends in .sl2. As such, I don't think it's a safe bet to rely on Steam cloud.

Where are the seamless co op saves located in file explorer?

They are located in the same directory as the vanilla save file.
On windows open the explorer, type %appdata% and go to roaming. The EldenRing directory contains the vanilla and the modded save file.

Thank you for your help, saved me from having to search for the right location manually.
