Is it me or is Maliketh waaaay harder than Malenia?

Like the dude hops around and obliterates me in a heartbeat almost every time. I struggle more with this guy than Malenia tbh.

he using physical damage at phase 1 and holy damage at phase 2, you can also use pilar as cover.

Hes considerably less tanky than her, and his attacks are slower as well.

Yeah both can obliterate you if you arent careful, but having faced both plenty, Malenia is significantly harder.

Answering the question from my point of view: its you. I've defeated Maliketh in a single attempt several times, but Malenia always takes at least a whole evening of attempts, and most of times took more than one evening.

The only reason he isn't MORE difficult is because he starts at half health.

At full health he is the only boss I've seen that consistently matches Malenia one on one. Turns out destined death DoT is an effective counter to both huge HP pools and self-healing.

Yea you're right, I did spend much more time fighting Malenia than I did Maliketh lol. I just beat Malenia using Malikeths Black Blade last night.

I feel the same way and remember feeling that way in my first playthrough. Maliketh took me forever to figure out. Malenia gives you so much more breathing space by comparison.

Also Malenia's more easy to stagger if you are using a heavy weapon and the mimic spirit ash.

Yeah, I wonder if that's the reason I found her so much easier. I was using a big heavy damage weapon and my play cycle was mostly aggressively attack, try to stunlock, stagger, riposte. Malenia seemed particularly susceptible to that because of her low poise. I was able to corner her a lot. Though in fairness to her, I did beat her before Cragblade was nerfed.

I used to feel the same until I figured out how to use Blasphemous Claw correctly. Apparently it only works against him when his sword glows gold, but it stops him in his tracks and lets you wail on him for an easy win. I still think Horah Loux is way harder than Malenia, though, even after 7 playthorughs.

Nope, he can clip right through the pillars and one-shot you.
