Honestly I'd advise finding another game to do PvP in if that's your thing. Not to say that some people here don't get into it but... the game is about precision and timing, yet both of those go out the window in PvP due to the lag. Not exactly a winning choice to me.
No idea how some people can deal with the constant lag when they PvP. It's already a ♥♥♥♥-fest as is but you toss in some horrible desync and it becomes unbearable. Even Co-op can be ♥♥♥♥ when you hit an enemy and it doesn't register until a second later and they still hit you because they didn't get interrupted.
Didn't need to write an entire essay for that by the way.
Sure there are tradeoffs, but the performance is better when its done correctly. FROM isn't a small studio anymore, nor are they new to their particular genre. So I stand by what I said earlier.
Again, its all about the effort you put into it. It can be done without significant latency, and it can be done pretty consistently. FROM just doesn't want to put in any of the effort, which is why I'm confused as to why MP exists in ER to begin with (with a new IP it would have been the perfect excuse to ditch it).
