Is duping by backup been patched?
Asking for my girl that saw videos about it and asked if its still a thing, can u get banned now for it or something?

Duping is bad when playing online?
Dropping items and rolling back a save has been the pvp community's bread and butter for more than a decade now, for helpers as well.
And to my knowledge the latest patch didn't introduce any countermeasures to prevent players from duping and trading items.

It might be a nitpick, but it's also not a cheat if no third party programs are used.

Tell your right hand that duping in general is bad if you play online enabled. Play offline if you want to cheat and not get caught ;)

Not completely, there are currently some cases in which dubbing savefiles lead to a 180 day ban after some time, but only very few cases
The basis of the ban is not really known, there are only a few speculations as to what could have triggered the ban.

Dupping goes on its easy and manual saves so it's easily sorted. Just need someone to drop items

manual save and back up save drop items delete main save re install back up save but make sure back up is kept up to date no more than a few days at most
