I dont have fun with spirit ashes so for me thats the wrong way to play teh game
others do have fun using spirit ashes -> so for them its the correct way to play

spirit ashes can be so much fun, theres so many of them, too
my favourite is to just ring them in and see wich ones can solo a boss, theres more than you might expect! (that is, with upgrades, of course.)
but as the previous commenter has said; youre doing it right if you have fun.
games are supposed to be fun after all.

It would be suicidal for FS to make a game like this to only play solo. Omitting coop and spirit ashes would cut their sales in half, if not more. As it is, there are a number of options as developers intended. Anyone who claims any one of those is the only correct way is blowing smoke. I see ashes more like some form of a natural difficulty slider. Do you enjoy the boss fight and want a challenge? Don't use ashes then. Fighting god skin duo? Use your ash and get these idiots out of the way :D

Don't understand the hate against ashes to be fair, all of them are falling off pretty hard in high NG+ anyways.

If you beat em with the spirit ashes then you do you, I won't say anything negative but I also wont give praise, if you beat it via co-op you beat it the easiest way and in my opinion accomplished very little to nothing. If you beat it solo then good job, I praise you for doing something challenging and pushing threw, good job.

There doesn't need to be a reason to hate summons. Soloists just get angry when they see up to 4 players doing the same thing they are. But if I had to guess I'd say soloists make up only a minority of players.

Who ever doubted it to be correct? As long as it doesn't go against the programming, its correct, the matter is if its liked or not. A single player feature like this is completely subjective and depeneds on each one.
