I would like to add to this invaders leave game automatically
if host passes boss fog and enters boss arena
or field boss (overworld boss) is defeated.
I was pointing out that Kalameet was misrepresenting Ay Tone's post:
Then they goes on to post about invasions being basically unwanted pvp, which is his own opinion about the matter and, by all means, he is free to express it.
I have played the game using seamless coop more than once and will go on to so in the future, given the opportunity.
On some days I switch between the vanilla and the modded game, should I not feel like playing multiplayer.
However, I mostly play vanilla Elden Ring making use of it's multiplayer feature.
I didn't act like he is lord and prince of determining what others do, once again.
All I did, was asking him kindly to let others make up their mind on their own, as Kalameet has a history of having to enforce his opinion about invasions onto others.
If Kalameet doesn't enjoy invasions, fine. If he goes on to rage about them, also fine.
But purposefully going out of your way to make sure new players will not even have the chance to play the game as is, because you at some point didn't enjoy something, is absolutely not fine.
Also, kindly point out the info I seemingly didn't want Kalameet to share.
Edit: typos
By "people," Dragonirian means he'll call you out. He's a majority of one.
Just to make things clear, it wasn't my intention to "enforce my vision" on OP. I couldn't care less what OP will/won't do in his game.
I only gave OP hints on a few responses that got posted here. See below.
OP clearly said he wants to play ER with 3 Friends in full co-op. Vanilla ER doesn't allow that. Vanilla ER also enforces PvP on co-op sessions, which may not be a desiderable behavior.
Edited.
It's kind of amusing the hivemind is starting to see me as a Threat in these forums
Lol! Nobody thinks you're a threat, Kalamari. It's just weird how someone who suppposedly hates the souls community SOOO MUCH is constantly posting here telling everybody how much he hates the souls community SOOO MUCH.
You must be one of those people who protest "Meat is Murder" at BBQ restaurants but sneaks in a few ribs when nobody is looking.
That, or the rent is ALWAYS free. We love you too, stop playing so hard to get. ;)
It's three players maximum, so that'll already be an issue for you. Each session of co-op is locked into a region or dungeon and ends the moment the main boss is killed, and you can't leave that region until the host ends it manually, dies, or kills said boss. Loot isn't shared either, and if a player dies they're kicked. If the host dies, everyone's kicked. If you really want to play Elden Ring start to finish coop you'll definitely want the mod.
That being said, base-game coop is also wildly fun and I do recommend giving the vanilla game a shot too. You join a host and possibly another player, and get a quick 3-player run to get the host through the region they're at. You might get interrupted by another mode, this being player "invaders" who enter with the goal of killing the host and are allied with the regular enemies. You beat them by either killing them or getting through a boss door away from them, the former giving you a nice reward. Killing the boss gets you that same reward.
In the mod, boss loot drops for everyone, everyone can pick things up off the ground, you respawn at a grace when you die instead of being kicked, and there's no invaders (who will seem way too common if you're just trying to have a slow-paced game with friends - coop assumes you're actively trying to beat the area, and they'll be pretty regular so you're likely to get one or even two before you do it). Player count is infinite, and you can turn on PVP between those players if you want. It's also seamless, meaning there's no being locked into a region until you kill the boss or anything like that. It's pretty close to Skyrim Together if you have any experience with that.
OP, you can't play with 3 friends in vanilla and the seamless mod can break the game in hilarious ways. Pick your poison.
What I would do in your position, if I wanted vanilla, would be to coop with two and summon the other one as red. Red tries to stop the coop party.
Also one other bonus, everyone gets their full HP/MP pots to use instead of one half of their capacity when they join you in Vanilla co-op.
If you just want to enjoy the game and not deal with PvP or people having to reconnect during every area. Just do the mod. Have fun the way you want to and enjoy the game.
Honestly for that I'd still use seamless. With two summons you're still going to get a second invader every so often, and you'll still have to deal with constant resummons and walls.
This game is worth for the solo play mainly, but as a co-op game with friends, and not random people, the experience is underwhelming.
If you want to do a full playthrough with friends, just use seamless. Thats why it was made. Because vanilla cannot give you that experience.
