every other soulslike game since the last 2 years (except elden ring) has ultrawide, also armored cored 6 (also made by fromsoft) have UW support. now theres no reason for ER to no support it. for me the rather play with UW than play online. SO offline with UW it is.

On the technical side, FS has never been able to surpass itself or demonstrate that it knows how to do better, so much so that they were shocked when Demon's Souls Remake was released due to the quality of the product created by Bluepoint.
And it's just one company that makes ports.
Elden Ring only supports 60 fps, does not support Widescreen monitors, still suffers from stuttering even on high-end hardware.
Repeated textures and many other situations that are too far from what today's technologies offer. Poor quality polygonal models when compared to other titles today.
Lies of P on the technical and quality side is a thousand times better, and it is the first game from the company, the same goes for Lords of the Fallen, both support widescreen and higher framerate.
Even on the performance side, both titles, Unreal Engine 4 and 5 are much smoother than the old engine used by Elden Ring.
Not even capable of optimizing their games on their home made old engine from the time of the first Demon's Souls.

It's not even a technical issue. It's a business issue. They don't want to spend the money to do it. The game natively supports ultrawide. They add black bars to the screen to hide some little glitches that would show up in cutscenes if you could see beyond 16:9.

All they have to do is remove the black bars during gameplay but keep them in during cutscenes. This is laziness and money grubbing. It's not a technical issue.

It is money grubbing because the fact is that they KNOW people want it, but some bean counter somewhere is saying "why spend a penny on this? RUBES already gave us their money."

I'm not buying the expansion or any more games from them in the future if they don't add support for this, by the way. That's why I didn't buy Armored Core 6. So keep that in mind, bean counters.
