Can I use saved files of others (no mods) without getting banned?

I finished the game three times and got all achievements and now I want to fight against certain bosses withouth having to start another ng+ (trying to activate all summoning pools to help others online).
I saw that there are saved files for Melania right before the boss entrance, is it possible to download them and use them without loosing my own progress or getting banned? I am new to this so I have no idea and the interent is giving mixed results.

Never mess with saves or files as you can face bans if you are unsure what you are doing.

Save files are tied to the steam ID they were created with. If you use the save file of someone else just like that you will raise a flag on fromsofts end and receive mutiplayer penatly of 180 days. Should you still use the same save file after those 180 days you will just get another ban of the same length, so make sure to delete the save files in use. The same applies to most mods.

That out of the way, there are ways to avoid being banned when using downloaded save files.

Unfortunately I guess it's outdated by now as the creator seemes to have abandoned it.
Edit: By which I mean, don't download or use it.
However, by following the steps under Installation I was able to use the save file and not get a ban while invading/cooping.

Should you want try it, be sure to absolutely follow all steps and most importantly:
do so at your own discretion.

If there isn't an option in the game to do it, you probably shouldn't be doing it if you dont want to risk.

While there aren't any savefiles you can safely download without fear or being banned, what you can do is backup your savefile before certain bosses. Then after you beat them, you can just reload your backup and start again. Also handy for saving time on nasty boss runbacks. Saved me hours on Sir Allone lol.

So how would I do such a backup? Just copy and paste the save file somewhere else and then change the save file within the elden ring folder?

yes. i have a folder on desktop with back up save make sure you use copy and paste never overwrite so if a mistake the save is in bin to restore

if you download cheat engine or if theres a mod i didnt know i used cheat engine
but it gives you an ofline launcher so your never launched online never been baned this way but you can play multiplayer but if you just wanna play and dont care for it then it works ps you dont have to use the cheat engine you can just drag and drop the offline launcher and its good
