what are some of the recommended armor sets (in general) which you can obtain early in the game?

Wretch starting gear is pretty OP and fairly easy to obtain

There's a decent iron set sold by one of the earlier merchants. I think he was somewhere near or in castle Morne. Its a good medium armor set.

There's also of course the knight set sold at roundtable hold husks.

Carian Knight Set or Knight Set

Veterans armor good defense and fashion for late game.
Vagabond or confessor armor for early game.

Technically the best one you can get is the Tree Sentinel set if you feel like speedrunning to it's location and using margit's shackle to get it easily.

Or bull goat but that one is hard to use early unless you don't mind spending all of your points in endurance or fat rolling

black knife tiche for permastealth but you gotta switch to something with more protection in the big snowy lategame areas

Early game? I'd recommend the Iron Set, which can be purchased on the Southern Peninsula from a merchant. Just follow the road south, and you should see him off to the left near one of those wind columns.

If you don't mind killing an NPC early, that has a role to play in one of the factions later on, you can kill Knight Bernahl for the Beast Champion armor. It's very heavy though, so you have to invest heavily in Endurance if you want to wear the whole thing.

If you can get them to drop, I personally find Kaiden Armor to be very good looking. Though I change out the arms for Godrick Soldier Gauntlets. Look way better but still match almost perfectly.

Raging wolf, hoslow, nights cavalry, and ronin. Not because they’re good sets but because they look awesome.
