I can't believe I'm writing a topic about Vigor
I know it's been done to death, but level your vigor! (those of you who don't)

If you're summoning me to fight Maliketh, you need more than 25 vigor. Literally this host tried to skip the sentinel and ate 2 hammers to the face while loitering in front of the fog door. 800 HP on the dot, which is 25 vigor or more likely 20 vigor plus a soreseal.

Outside of speed runners I'm always amazed to see people even reach Maliketh with sub 40 Vigor because of the Fire Giant fight.

I finished my first playthrough with 35 Vigor because "Bolt of Gransax +10".

Whoops.

You could try renaming your character to "Level your vigor" or "Vigor above [XX]", where [XX] can be whatever you think is best for the area.

Reminds me, was doing NG+3 I think, was going for all endings after all, and I summoned several people in for Maliketh, at that point he hit so hard he did an AOE and oneshot every single one of us at the same time.

Aside from health I think many people ignore damage absorption stat.

High health will not save you if you have low absorption against
whatever is boss' main source of damage.

I guess some players like high risk glass cannon builds though.

A lot of the time bosses have mixed damage types or damage types that aren't obvious.

What damage is the poison mist from the putrid tree spirits and from the valiant gargoyles to begin with?

Or Maliketh? What damage type(s) are the Black Blade attacks? It causes fire DoT but its player incantation version does pure holy damage.

At least its not DS3 where mid/late game every boss dealt a minimum of 3-4 different damage types.

While you are at it, remind them to read the description of the talismans. Not only there is people with little vigor, at the same time they have equipped like ALL the talismans increasing the damage received.

If you're unsure what damage boss does equip best Dragoncrest and/or Pearldrake
talismans you have, depending on absorptions of your armor.

I believe Maliketh does standard and holy damage with his attacks.

I am not sure about poison/rot mist from trees but It is likely holy or standard damage.
It is also possible that damage ignore absorptions.
