But most people do have a certain talisman by that point.
I can't necessarily agree with this. Mohg is one of my favorite bosses in this game. If he's throwing fire all the time, it sounds like you were standing too far away. Were you playing a caster by chance?
He also seems to have almost no response to range spam, making him much easier for ranged combat (to be fair most of the game is).
Just an annoying, obnoxious fight that wasnt fun to deal with.
EDIT. But not harder than Malenia IMHO. If you think Malenia is easier, you just didnt deal with her super aggressive seed. I once had a run when she did 2 flower dances in phase 2 back to back, followed up immediately with her phantom attack. Or she just never does it in her 2 phase, only doing basic patterns that are easy to dodge and stagger. She is very random, with her difficulty changing wildly based on RNG, so I can see why some people can have vastly different experience with her.
Mohg is very easy in phase 1 then becomes insanely difficulty in phase 2 but phase 2 can be skipped entirely. Also to make the phase 2 transition "Fair" you'd need an easily miss-able crystal tear.
That only drops from an invader that spawns from a quest that never indicates where to go to complete it to fight said invader to get the tear.
Also the crystal tear is completely useless outside of this specific Mohg fight as it does nothing everywhere else even against illusion Mohg.
He also has a "win more/lose less" where he gains a 20% damage buff every time he bleeds you or you bleed him.
This means a single bleed can make Mohg one shot most builds unless they have stacked both physical and fire resistance with 50+ vigor.
Melania just invalidates a lot of strategies, is massively over stated, and is more or less entirely RNG dependent.
If she spams water fowl dance the entire fight or water fowl dance and clone spam in phase 2 you're run is doomed no matter how well you play against her.
That and she has life steal(Which works even if 100% blocked invalidating shields) while having more hp then all 3 phases of Sister Frieda and Gael combined.
I have noticed that she lifesteals even when you i-frame her attacks with dodge, it seems that as long as her attacks connect, she heals. Hilarious.
Gitting gud is all you need for Mogh, but for Malenia that's not enough, you need to be gitting supper gudddddd.
Considering you can also outrun the first flurry of Waterfowl Dance, it's pretty funny how a simple sprint removes 90% of her lethality.
You have to roll right left right left streight.
I have no problem dodging waterfowl (Two times away and then into)
Yesterday i did the Twin gargoyle boss, the twinblade one just did the spinning, the other one just flew around on first try. On second try.....they were like "nah, don´t care"
