Wait tll you level up (Vig) and find better talismans and armor...you can easily get 50 - 60 physical with all types of buffs and even higher elemental.
That's a difference of nearly 60 damage negation! Just over 1hp per point of negation. So basically it's negligible throughout the entire game until I have insanely high negation from end-game armor that sacrifices all mobility, especially when for most of the game I've been dealing in only increments of 2 or 3 points. I'm better off with a bigger health pool and/or not getting hit.
You're simply not meant to stand there and take 5+ hits from enemies appropriate to your level.
The Soreseals/Scarseals are BASICALLY worth it if you get a percentually greater HP boost than the amount of damage negation you lose, but keep in mind that the effect is much more noticeable with bosses than trash mobs.
