Btw, you do it using mimic/spirit ash or summoning someone?
As far as I know Malenia dodge the beam easily if you are her only target.

I cheesed the ♥♥♥♥ out of her any chance I could, Star shower spam with Tiche worked out fairly well to get to phase 2 then pop the flask that negates FP costs to blast her ass into oblivion.

I'm a wizard, I don't know right from wrong so fair fights were not an option.

I ended up losing my patience with Malenia twice on 1st and 2nd run where I pulled the mimic+10 to beat in 1 or 2 tries after so much trying solo, on my 3rd run at NG+ I gone at her until I beaten her solo no spirit ash and learned how to completely and consistently avoid Waterfowl, the only thing that was killing me on my 2nd and 3rd runs against Malenia.
