ELDEN RING

ELDEN RING

データを表示:
Something that doesn't make sense
Lore/timeline discussion. Starting from furthest event, up to most recent:

- Maliketh defeats the Gloam Eyed Queen and in doing so obtains the rune of death.
- Ranni steals a fragment of the rune of death, using it to create the black knives.
- Maliketh seals the rune of death in himself as a result of a fragment being stolen from him.
- Night of the black knives happens, Godwyn killed.
- Marika shatters the elden ring.

How was the rune of death transferred between people BEFORE the ER was shattered??? Wasn't it part of the elden ring?

...Not to mention she has the Empyrean mark.
Do you mind supplying the source that states that mark is "the Empyrean mark"?

Do you also want a DNA test? We must go by what little information and cues we have, and both Ranni and Melina share that mark, to the point people were thinking they were the same person in the beginning.

A more logic and reasonable explanation is that is some sort of Empyrean mark, regardless, Melina fits Gloam Eyed Queen like a glove and explains how Ranni knows her.

Plus I find it no coincidence the other Empyreans have their face somewhat damaged, where the mark would be.

Malenia has her entire upper face destroyed and Radagon is like a walking corpse with again half his face destroyed.

Miquella... Well we all know that story, we don't even see his face.

Leaving only Ranni and Melina with their face intact (in ironic sense, since they don't have their bodies).

Nope, just the source. If I were a demanding fellow, I might also request you supply a plausible explanation of why none of the other Empyreans have that mark, with sources of course.

My own assumption is that the Rune of Death was given to the Gloam-Eyed Queen to kill demigods that opposed or at least fell outside the ideals of the Golden Order.
That was Maliketh's job, not the GEQ's (hence why it's stated that even the demigods feared Maliketh). But when he failed and the Black Knife Assassin's stole some of the Rune to kill Godwyn, he imbued it into his flesh so that it wouldn't happen again.

The order of that is wrong. Maliketh defeated GEQ BEFORE the FRAGMENT of the rune of death was stolen. That fragment is what created the black knives, which then were used to kill Godwyn.

Maliketh sealed the rune of death within himself to prevent any further theft attempts (they would have to take it from his cold dead hands, as it were).

Well, if you really want to get technical, the fragment didn't actually create the knives. A ritual was performed on the already existing blades to imbue them with the power of Death.

True, the Numen Assassins imbued it into their own daggers by orders from Ranni.

I missed the fact GEQ Black Flames was the original Destined Death which forced Marika hand to remove the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring.

Marika wanted a world without Destined Death, it reinforces that Destined Death is only a fragment of the Rune of Death.

So I was wrong when I said Ranni helped GEQ, she was already dead then, killed by Maliketh.

Some of the lore videos I have seen, or even read about they say that Radagons redhair means that he was a Fire giant or a relative of the giants.

I always believed that Radagon is the Will of Marika. the same person so to speak but her soul is split much like Malaenia and her "Sisters"

So here is a thought. If the rune of Death was taken out of the Elden ring, could that not coincide with Radagon showing up? The first part being pulled away from the ring, and thus Marika separating her body.

The rune then being given to Mailikith for safe keeping.

I'm spit balling here.

Highly unlikely.

It's suggested that maybe the Fire Giants put a curse on Marika/Radagon by giving the latter red hair, perhaps as a "♥♥♥♥ you bro you didn't win" after Marika defeated their Fell God and cursed the last Fire Giant to watch the flame forever.

From the Giant's Red Braid description:

"Every giant is red of hair, and Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks. Perhaps that was a curse of their kind."

Its more on point than most theories I've heard about the subject.

The only question is, what's the furthest point in time when Radagon's existence was known?

His war with Rennala.

And do we know whether or not the war with Rennala happened before or after EITHER the night of the black knives, or the defeat of the GEQ? I'm unclear on where it fits in the timeline.

I'm not aware of anything solid, but it seems a safe bet that the war took place after GEQ's defeat and before Godwyn's death
I would like people not to think that the Golden Order and the Greater Will are synonyms.

The Greater Will is the godly authority that controls the Lands Between, and the owner of the Elder Beast which descended bringing the Elden Ring.

The Golden Order was a religion that was built around Marika, the Elden Ring and the Golden Lineage. It has nothing to do with the Greater Will, because it was created by the people of the Lands Between.

The fact that the Greater Will bestowed the Destined Death to the Gloam-Eyed Queen in order to dismantle the Golden Order makes perfect sense, because the Greater Will probably decided that the Golden Order was detrimental to its plans.

If the Greater Will was against Marika establishing the Golden Order, it would have imprisoned/punished her a long time before the Shattering (via the Elden Beast).

If anything, the GW probably encouraged her to establish the Order and spread its influence
