Co-op with girlfriend?
Hey folks, so I was planning on going for another playthrough of Elden Ring and was wanting to get my girlfriend in to playing a co-op run. The problem is that she not a lifelong gamer like I am so she doesn't necessarily have the best reaction time or gamer "skill level" that would probably be required for success in a lot of boss encounters.
I am planning on running with the Seamless Co-op mod so that we can actually properly explore together rather than be limited in almost every area of the game.
I am curious if anyone else has experience with either a build that might allow a high degree of survivability, or a mod that might make it easier for her to survive without making things trivial(I considered the easy mode mod but I also don't want the game to be a cakewalk).

Honestly, I think her build will depend alot on yours, although ranged / magic is probably going to work best for her.

Let her play as sorcerer, and you can be a tanky strength build and get the enemies aggro on you. ( note: sorcerer has lower hp and is a bit slow to start, you'll need to get some gears from Caelid at first)
In case she doesn't like casting spells, she could also play a strength build with some points in faith for healing and support. Faster start and high survivability. And then maybe a dualwielding build for you, going for high damage output and bleed / frost and other status buildups.

Play skyrim with your girl, there are no mods for easy mode.

Don't be a jerky idiot.

Fake thread. OP has no girlfriend. Girlfriends are urban myth.

We are all maidenless in here.

tbh which playstyle comes easiest to her will depend on her, best bet would be to have her run through the tutorial once with a few different classes and have her find out which is the most fun to her

I would recommend NOT bringing your GF into this game. Given what you described about her, it is not something she will probably enjoy, for a number of very obvious reasons. And your thinking on not making it too easy is a real showstopper.

Find out what she likes, in and out of gaming. Then find a game that you can both play that fits those parameters as closely as possible.

Good Luck

If you're gonna do a fully coop game with someone, especially someone new, use the seamless coop mod. It will save you a LOT of headaches: https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/510

Both of you need to download and install it, then just follow the instructions.

No problem if her co-op partner is a twink. Let her host, you be the furl finger.
Drop all the OP items and gears for her at First Step :)

You be a tanky gigachad and maintain boss aggro constantly so she can drink flasks.

Also, get her a really good shield. 100% physical. Barricade is a good ash of war.

Put all her points into vigor.

Shields really help for ppl still learning the game.

Farm golden seeds and sacred tears immediately. Increase flask to max :)

STR builds are good for beginners because you raise your defense as well.

As soon as her Endurance permits it, get dual claymores or dual weapons to powerstance.

Slap Lion's Claw ash for dual-wielding STR build. Great for beginners again.

After a while, if she really likes the game, she will start experimenting with DEX or INT or other builds by herself.

These are just suggestions. Maybe based on experience, who knows :)

They said in the OP they were going to use it. You guys and this mod Crack me up.

Just have her prioritize vigor and defensive gear. Otherwise, let her die a few times and figure out what works best for herself. Have her choose Wretch for the best first playthrough.

Sorceries and Incantations are great ways to allow her to keep her distance, but she'll have to juggle the boss sometimes while its attention shifts to her. She'll still need quite a bit of vigour.

Alternatively, I found DoT builds to be somewhat easier, as it takes the pressure off of offense and gives more room to focus on defence. There's these stinger gauntlets you can get in a cave in early Caelid that apply a fast-acting poison, which can be very rewarding if you can get it to trigger.
