Colossal Sword/Mage Build
If one were to combine the ability to wield a colossal sword alongside a mage build, what would be the best way of going about it?

Ruins Greatsword. Just enough INT and STR to give the best use to the sword, a decent amount of MIND to have enough FP to use the skill and sorceries and END to carry the sword an maintain light roll.

This^

The Ruins GS is a BEAST of a weapon and will do wonders for an INT/STR build.

Hell, I run it on my main, which is a Quality Build, with enough INT just to be able to wield the weapon and the thing hits like a truck. On a build focused around it, you'll wreck everything in your path.

Radahn had the right idea. Go for gravity magic. Half the fun of being a STR build is throwing stuff around anyway, and gravity magic can both do that and pull stuff towards you. You can combine that in...interesting ways. Especially when you mix it with a colossal weapon.

Radahn's Swords are another good choice too for an INT/STR build. I always forget about those.

And yeah, Gravity Magic is really strong in this game. During my mage run I melted Rennala with Rock Sling.

Just do magic infused Zweihander, that way your stats wont be spread too thin.

Thoughts on Royal Greatsword? It has my favorite aesthetic of all the INT-based colossal swords, but I don't often hear it mentioned. Are the minimum attribute requirements too much for people?

Str 26
Dex 18
Int 22

The 26 str and 18 dex is just too high a requirment for a mage build and Most other str int weapons have poor int scaling so you would need to dedicate a build specifically to that weapon to make it worth using. (Imo)

Makes sense. So it is that it's expensive.
