A good Holy weapon will take down a skeleton, and it won't regenerate. No need to give it a follow up blow.
i didn't even know that fire is weaker in rain, that's fun. overall, that type has also quite some usage tho
Doing a Strength/Faith setup. I keep a weapon just for skellies because I get sick of the double-tap kill and usually forget.
I also keep the Halo Scythe around because the AoW is ridiculously good for distance and it spams so easily. If for some reason I don’t want to be close, the Halo appears. Use it on Deathbirds and even used it on the Fire Giant to break his leg from a safe distance.
For fire I use the Magma Wyrm Scalesword. The Magma Guillotine is fast and leaves that wonderful puddle. It is getting replaced by the Blasphemous Blade, tho.
For rot I used the Dragon Breath. For poison I use the Serpent Bow. Lightning is on an upgraded katana with some Thunderbolt AoW that adds lightning damage. Bloodflame blade on a katana is good for bleed, too.
Oh, and keep a dagger around with quickstep or bloodhound step to get through lava.
Staying versatile has worked well for me so far. I’m sure I will have to specialize late game but by then I will figure out what works.
Some holy weapons also keep skeletons from regenerating when killed, but not all. Noticably, holy water pots, and holy arrows. All holy weapons do extra damage to them regardless.
Don't think I want to set my affinity just for them. So unless I am making a Faith build, I don't use holy damage.
