Erdtree Avatar Star Attack?

I have to ask, how am I suppose to dodge this spammable onslaught? My only reliable counter has been to run behind cover and let all the stars hit it, this also requires my cover to be non destructible.
Also whenever any Avatar decides to do this attack they will continue to spam it to no end, which is especially annoying in the double Erdtree Avatar fight.

So again how do I dodge this ludicrous attack without hiding? And what causes the AI to spam this move?

basically going directly right/left, both on foot and horse works fine, the stars dont home enough to hit you, they spam it more at large distances, as far as im aware

Yeah, just run right or left and the projectiles will miss you. If you end up in an enclosed space - there's one in the haligtree area - you can also just dodge back and forth from left to right and they'll miss you if you have the right timing.

dodge roll to the side until it stops or hide behind cover that can't be destroyed, like boulders.

Sprint left or right usually works fine. Also spamming dodge left or right typically dodges like 90% of them too.

For me, only hopping on Torrent and riding him left or right does the trick, otherwise I tend to get obliterated. But it works perfectly though, almost never get hit that way.

Also, those projectiles destroy very solid-looking stuff, so hiding behind obstacles is not great.

Like any real Tarnished, you parry each individual projectile with your bare hands.

Assuming you don't run out of stamina or run into any objects, just sprinting left/right will let you dodge all of those 100% of the time.

Literally just tilt your left stick to the left or right and sprint while locked onto the boss. Misses you every time
