But it's basically memorization like most of the other bosses. He is "fair" in the sense that he won't break the rules like Malenia does, but to my mind the fight is not very enjoyable, when I finally beat him without using the game's overpowered resources, I felt more relief of having finished a boring fight than satisfaction.
Then you are not overleveled at all... recommended level (which, of course, is subjective, but imho decently accurate) for Mohgwyn Palace is 110-140:

So I'd rather say you are somewhat UNDERleveled, no surprise if you are having a hard time against him
I don't think you're overleveled for the area. But I do think that his boss design kinda sucks.

Ive been told by my buddies Mohgwyn Palace lvl 75 but if the level gap is that much back to grinding
