Sorcereries are a lot less cool compared to Incantations
I hope the DLC really throws them a bone or something. I mean, I hope they add cool ♥♥♥♥ for everything, but sorcereries could really use some more spectacle. My first playthrough is a sorcerer and basically the whole time I've been enviously looking over at incantations eager to use them myself.

I know sorcerery is supposed to be pretty good, but I dunno. I can only be contented by blue projecticles for so long. What's more frustrating is that the more exciting the spell looks the less viable it is.

I like the simple aesthetic of Sorceries.
Actually, my favorite line of Sorceries is the Invisible Sorceries.
Night Comet is my number one go-to Sorcery, and it's just a simple, partially-transparent bolt of energy that I fling at my enemy.
And it would presumably be completely invisible to them, so they don't see it coming.

Incantations have a bit of variation to 'em. There's some fire and some lightning and a bit of holy, and then all the massively over-the-top dragon incantations.

A lot of people like 'em, or just use Rot Breath because it's a META opener on anything that's not immune to Scarlet Rot.
I can't stand the image of a giant dragon head popping out of nowhere to do a breath attack. It looks so dumb to me, so I don't use 'em!

My personal favorites are all the lightning stake incantations.

I flip flop on dragon incantations, but yeah, floating head materializing from nothing isn't my first choice either. Maybe if there was a sort of portal it's head popped out of it'd be cooler to me at least.

...because a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ death star beam isn't spectacular enough.

Comet Azur is a spectacle that's interesting only the first time you see it.
It's unwieldy unless you're using it with your Wondrous Physick to cheese a boss.

Given today's general attention span, that applies to absolutely everything in this world.

Yeah honestly I was really hoping for some more elemental stuff. Like ice bolts, tornadoes or whatever.

Or just more ice stuff in general, feels very underused despite being a thing in the game.

I got bored after the first 4 words of that sentence and stopped reading.

As a sorcery main with an incantation alt, I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong. But keep in mind that there are only 70 sorceries and 101 incantations. Perhaps there's hope for the future for you. In Dark Souls 1 the DLC did bring new sorceries from what I remember.

You're not alone. And as a regular Comet user, it's sad that I discovered the benefits of Night Comet too late. But it's so good.

Additionally:
- I don't like lightning that much
- I really don't like dragon heads
- I love black fire but regular fire is just OK
- I love holy
- I like the Bestial Incantations
- I love the Crucible ones
- And the frenzy flame ones are pretty sweet
- The rot stuff is meh

And generally speaking I love all the sorceries.

Ice Bolt = Glintstone Icecrag
Tornado = Zamor Ice Storm

No good?

To all the people that use Rot breath in coop: ♥♥♥♥ you

The moment I see that, I stop attacking and back off because I can't see anything when you do this. And when the boss then turns to you and pulverizes your head into the ground due to the 3 hour casting animation, know that you deserved it.

Incantation has utility and buff spells, and several different elements, but really I am just flinging Black Flame at everything that doesn't have stupidly high resist to it, and Lightning Spear if it does. Fire Breath melts mobs, Rot Breath solves Radahn and Fire Giant as bosses. Discus of Light is 9 FP and is huge damage - useless in PvP, but excellent at clearing Stonediggers and such.

Sorcery, I love how astoundingly useful Magic Glintblade is, the Phalanx spells are nice. My only Int file is 40 int so I don't have any nukes to comment on. My only qualm with Sorcery is there's no healing option at all, forcing me to run 3-5 health pots or invest into Faith up to 12 for Beastial Vigor, Heal, and utilities like Cure Poison. PvE, all my builds run 12 faith for the utility.

Love Magic Glintblade. Did you go Prisoner or Astrologer? I ask since the Prisoner starts with Magic Glintblade.

What does int file 40 int mean?

How about warming stones to heal?

Really wished there was an incantation or at least aromatic for breathing fire that isn't related to Dragon Communion.
