Also, people demanded FS to implement "a proper anticheat" in Elden Ring. Well, they did it, and now people demand removal of anticheat. Make up your mind already, folks!
As with many games like this the modding community gets it sorted, would much rather have it sorted by the dev but it is what it is.
It wouldn't help with resolution - but there is mods for that as well as I am sure you are aware; then the Key-Binding is one thing I am not 100% sure on. Might be able to configure a unique keyboard profile for the game and re-map some keys at the OS level, but that would be a pain to deal with constantly swapping profiles (or wondering why you try "www.google.com" and ended up with "III.googkr.vom")
After I have put some hours into the PC version I probably will... if I care enough to be bothered ... just installing mods at the moment is the only reason I bothered to post here :)
Elden Ring's biggest issue with mods is the presence of EAC which assumes any mod is cheating. Removing EAC would fix this, obviously, but that wouldn't mean the game now has official modding support.
Honestly, I think the only way FromSoft would ever get a clue is if they were forced to play something like Oblivion unmodded and then play it with some of it's top tier mods installed. Then show them the sales figures over the years. Yes, Skyrim is better. Morrowind is definitely better. However the game in its vanilla form has no business being played. The right mods make a night and day difference.
Elden Ring is easy enough to mod just wish it had offical support, proper mod support is not a rare thing at all and you can easily enough support community content within a secure game by managing what can and cant be modded. Setting all that aside my main point was the issues they have with the game those should all be low hanging fruit easily sorted and in fact modders have it sorted in an easy to use way.
I dont expect FS will do anything of the sort with Elden Ring but raising it as a topic runs the risk of it getting traction in the community and if it did manage that it might get considered by FS for some future game ... lots of maybe and might but it is what it is.
For note I "fixed" my install via mods and its SO MUCH better once you sort the ratio, FPS and FOV issues. I still have an issue with the key binding as I prefer ESDF over WASD and they have a few hard coded key binds that make that a mess but having played the game on console and PC I can say modded + PC == best experience by a lot.
Huh, couldnt been happier day added HDMI by default onto vid cards, nor imagine going back to being cramped up on a tiny desk with a little monitor in front of me versus the nearly wireless and amazingly chill(read: omegachad) setup I've rocked for last, shiiiizzzz going on a decade now.
Do you have like a little logitech 7.1 speaker setup(with poorly screwed in drywall mounts) and an external sound card too for the full early 2000's PC gamer nostalgia trip?
Rename the executable to anything
Change the file type to anything
Copy it somewhere else
or
Just delete the .exe. Then you can use w/e mods you want.
lmao. wtf is this even saying?
