Can you get to Leyndell by only getting one rune, that being Radahn's.

So by doing Fia's quest even before the dragon boss there's a portal that teleports you inside Leyndell's enterance. You just need to kill Radahn to unlock the underground area to get through her questline. Just wondering if it's a glitchless way to get in there without getting 2 runes or if the portal is disabled or something like that.

I was told by a 3rd party that said portal was inactive until you acquired a second rune. I have not verified this.

i dont believe so, at least not that i have stumbled on, if u need help getting a 2nd i can help u

You can get up on the Altus Plateau but you can't enter the city without 2 runes.

Thanks but I'm doing a summonless RL1 all boss run, I didn't do her quest on my first run through so I never managed to fight the dragon locked behind her quest which is why I discovered the portal

In my first playthrough, the only shardbearer I killed was Radahn. Then after Fia's Champions, without killing any 2nd shardbearer, the portal was not functional.

However, that was in March. I don't know if the patches changed any of that.

It would be a cool alternative but I doubt it, I think that's one hard limit that won't get changed.

You can get into Leyndell with no great runes at all, if you know the way and you're hard enough to defeat the rear gate guardian.

You can wrongwarp into leyndell from the gateway in weeping peninsula and do the whole area without obtaining a single great rune.

Edit: you can also use the ruptured crystal explosion to drop down to the elevator without dying

So, you drink the thing before jumping?? That area is kind of isolated and high up.
