Fun Build Ideas?

Title. I tried doing sword and shield but got horribly bored. Don't necessarily care whether or not it's overpowered or underpowered, just want something creative. PvE focused.

Sword and shield has always been reliable, but boring, yes.

I say if you're bored do themed builds. Like a build revolving around godslayer incantations and weapons (lots of fun by the way), or a specific weapon that's fun to use.

Making a samurai build that uses dragon communion incantations (for maximum edge) is also quite fun.

i normally enjoy colossal weapon builds, but now having fun with a wizard doing freeze and gravity sorcery combos. Freeze, stance break with rocks and then blast em with meteors.

dragon incantations, placidussax ruin, scarlet aeonia are pretty fun to use in pve

I did a Samurai first and it was ok but I've now put more time into a caster and have enjoyed it much more. I went Astrologer and then mainly Int, not Faith. Vigor, Int, then in bits Mind and Endurance.

Most helpful thing at the start was going to Caelid and getting the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling spell. Both very close to each other and very easy to get.

Equip conceiling veil. Invade. Crouch. Use explosive flask setup and activate it when close to host ambushing him from bushes or whatever. Scream Alahu Akbar! while running to him at the same time!

Build options:

*Powerstance any Greatsword/Greataxe or colossal weapon

*Use the scorpion stinger and a bleed dagger dual wield. Instant rot build up with good damage from bleed

*Pure beast playthrough, fist weapons only and only the incantations taught by Guranq. No armour other than rags.

*Bow or crossbow only, bonus points if you don't use the pulley crossbow.
