Is there a link or relationship between Melania and Millicent?

Both suffer the rot and missing their right arms.

If Gowry is to be taken literally, Millicent is Malenia's daughter. If not, then she is most likely a "clone" or "spawn" of Malenia. I think it is likely the latter, though she has 4 "sisters" who may or may not actually be blood relations, so, it's hard to say. Maybe Malenia adopted her after a fashion. There's a lot of ambiguity there.

It is implied that Milicent somehow comes from Malenia. But Milicent's actual relationship with Gowry and Malenia is debatable. I am more curious about whether and how Gowry has anything to do with Malenia.

Gowry did say he adopted Millicent and one time when I killed him by accident, he turned into a Pest (lesser kindred of rot).

Millicent remembers some relations at Gowry's hut and decides to search for Melanie in Haligtree.

My take:

Millicent is somehow related to Malenia, much like we are somehow related to Godfrey. Daughter seems unlikely and I'm not sure where people are getting clone from. As for the sisters, the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia suggests Millicent isn't one of the sisters. Otherwise I think I agree with the rest of ^^^ (Gowry nurturing more Rot God vessels).

Why were the tarnished banished and Tarith wants to use the tarnished to kill their own kind?

Gowry tells us that Scarlet Rot doesn't just destroy life, it actually creates it, Millicent was born from Scarlet Rot in the swamp and rescued by Gowry, that's why Gowry dedicates his life to the scarlet rot, it's a morally grey character, obviously Scarlet rot is bad but he finds beauty in it because of the life it gives and Millicent is the spawn of the scarlet rot.

But it's worth noting that Gowry kinda fetishizes Millicent because she can be reborn as a Scarlet Valkyrie and becone a new Malenia, that's why in my opinion overall he's not a good guy, just a religious nutjob
