Play offline. Same thing happened to me but I never even noticed that Comcast had gone down. Oh, and disable Cloud saves as well. The game just continued to play and saved when I exited just fine.

Sounds like a WiFi connectivity issue. Solved by updating router firmware and properly selecting a less trafficked channel. Nothing like this would ever happen on a wired connection.

It won't ever "go away". If you suffer connectivity issues on a wired connection it's either related to DNS server trouble or traffic routing internationally - UNLESS you're a noob who has an ancient overheated router with torn cables and a network card that was damaged in a power surge or whatnot.

In either case that's on you and not the choice of connection. With WiFi on the other hand you're subject to your neighbor's activity spikes as well as competing devices on the same channel frequency.

oh is that what that is? it happens to me about 3-4 times during a regular play session for me. Though windows doesnt seem to appear to have lost connection to the internet to me when that happens?

You can remove the DRM easily. Mod for it on nexus.

like when you don´t have internet for a few hours or if theres a disturbance and your internet is out for a day or something
then you have random infrequently drops of 10 secs not connection or something
if your provide is ♥♥♥♥ it has nothing to do with being Ethernet or W-lan

Its still active, it just doesn't try to boot you out. Instead it cripples the game's performance passively (not on purpose, its just garbage).

Don't believe me, start the game offline without EAC, note the difference in areas with framerate issues.

EAC isn't DRM though.... EAC is Anti-cheat software.
DRM is Digital Rights Management which in the case of Elden Ring is steam. Not EAC.

Elden Ring kicks you back to title because it needs to turn off online features. And the best way to remove you from the online pool is to just forced you back to menu for some reason. Granted it's annoying and idk why it happens when it didn't in the Souls Games. But hey. Either way, it's not DRM making you be kicked back to title. Not even sure if it's EAC. It's just the way the game is programmed.

But for all the people saying "wired connection won't ever drop." Can confirm it does. How often depends if you're linked straight to a router or through an extender. Because extenders can freak out all the time.
