I do not consider myself especially skilled in Elden Ring PvP, so as a member of the audience, I do often think to myself, "How can you beat that?"
Then my world opens up not only when the streamer comments on something they could have done better as opposed to the success of the setup—and to an even greater extent, I am awed when they do conquer these types of challenges, or even re-invade to avenge themselves, now more mentally prepared to adapt.
It does vary, but even the best sometimes fall prey to setups like these—if only once.
Good luck, invader! ^w^
Yes this is the way.
I do understand it a little bit better after they explained the concept behind invasions, what it was supposed to be back with Dark Souls 1-3. As far as my PVE a$$ goes, I can't say I'm unhappy with how they've dealt with it in Elden Ring, but that could be my memories of starting out in any of the 3 Dark Souls games and being mercilessly hunted down by a twinked invader. That hasn't happened yet in Elden Ring, thank goodness.
But then, if you think about it, your experience with PVP signs might be that crowd looking for a different way to do what they've always done, since that's a little more unpredictable now.
so yes, obviously, the most toxic players in the game host or play as OL phantoms. there are certainly invaders out there who want to grief noobs and be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but in practice, even when invading at low rune levels, youre not just invading tons of noobs, youre invading 3 man overleveled teams, experienced gankers, invaders doing taunter tongue runs, bonfire duelists etc etc etc. for players who just want to stack advantages, get wins as easily as possible, and make other players salty, the most effective role to play BY FAR is host.
Yes, exactly this. Thanks for saying everything I was thinking, but more eloquently.
Yeah started doing multiplayer recently and learned very quickly that invasions are not fun even in the slightest. Wish I had a good solution tho. I personally hated getting invaded as a solo player in DS1 but the over correction here is clearly setup to make the invader a punching bag.
