The game is great but kinda lacks replayability
The main draw of this game was the exploration but in ds3,bloodborne and sekiro it was the dope bosses...while there are great bosses here most of them are not great.
Final boss sucked which is unusual for a fromsoft title.
Mohg,Morgott,Godfrey,Malenia (if you use bhs on that attack) are the best bosses here
The exploration is pointless on a 2nd run and you will just run to pick up the stuff you need like seeds, sacred tears and smithing stones.
Also knowing i would have to fight godskin duo, fire giant and elden beast again makes me not want to touch it again

I just keep doing co-op with people and random pvp that goes along with it

Ah, Godskin Duo and Fire Giant.
I wish I could fight those again instead of some other bosses. >.>

It's funny how some bosses are harder for some players while others may struggle with completely different bosses.

It's one of the best games I've played in years and I definitely got my money's worth but I agree on the exploration front. I'm feeling the same way at this point - so many of the dungeons just aren't worth the trouble once you know that they don't reward you with anything that compliments your build.

Offline modding can add quite a bit to the experience though and I think I'll get plenty more out of the game with the options available there. And if that co-op mod that everyone's going on about actually pans out in the long term, that might be worth a shot as well.

Fire giant was a blast. I go back and reload a save and fight him again every so often.

FromSoft should make it possible to improve on builds in NG+ and vary enemy movesets, just like in Nioh.

True, it was so disappointing there were no new items/enemies in NG+

I mean one mistake with fire giant is death and the fight lasts forever
Duo is garbage

well not if you have some phys/fire res. Duo is trivialized with sleep pots

My problem is that NG+ is too easy.

I tried NG+ and its vomit inducingly easy in Elden Ring. In DS games, you hit early enemies harder in NG+ than when you were a lowly undead sure but they hit much harder too. Never felt as much of a cake walk in those games.

Yes. Replayability is super duper low. That distinguishes itself from previous souls games that had better replayability.
I tried to start another build but soon realized the drag is too big.
Although Skyrim is similar size game if not larger, still Skyrim is highly replayable.
It doesn't take only tons of weapons to make a comprehensive open world game. It needs much more than that at which From Soft are not good at.

How do you know where everything is on your first playthrough?

While I will agree NG+ is a little disappointing it's not much different from previous games. NG+ has always been an absolute cakewalk unless you go there very underleveled or with default weapons or you just brute force your way through NG. Dodge and parry timings don't change and the amount of damage you take/give doesn't differ much until the endgame part of NG+ where it's all the same since you're talking 1-3 hits max before death.

Yeah, I couldn't find one compelling reason to do NG+ in this. Someone needed help with NG+6 Malenia, I figured it would be a pretty brutal fight with all those extra NG+ buffs, I even got clipped by a waterfowl dance swipe, and wasn't OHKO'd like I expected. Massively under leveled for NG+6 as well. That told me all I really needed to know right there.

DLC can't come soon enough. I'm curious to see the scope of it.

Mods, too, though... There are some really awesome mods for DS3 that add a ton of items and such.

with a strenght build you do maximum damage on fire giant and your damage stat also increases defenses against his damage, boss tumbles over fast.
he is very resistant to status effects so those will have a much harder time.
With a holy build you have a huge advantage on deathrite birds, the list goes on.

One of the best features souls games ever had was the ascetic mechanics from Dark Souls 2. At any point you were able to move back and forth to NG+. And you would find them not only stronger but surprise you invasions and bosses. Why this mechanic was scrapped is unknown to me.
