Can you use Torrent in the Scarlet Lake of Rot?

So before I go spend five hours farming land Octopi for scarlot rot alleviating boluses, I was wondering if this is a glitch I messed up somewhere where I can't use torrent. I just got done the part in Ranni's quest of defeating the Baleful shadow and before that was Radahn and Renalla. Just wondering if I missed something.

You don't need to craft boluses. Get the "Flame cleanse me" incarnation instead and equip gears to increase your immunity. The Mushroom set is maybe the best.

Equip to have high immunity + spam Flame Clenase Me as Lumina advised. Stack HP regen, too, if you want to further reduce the impact but it will not totally negate the DoT. You can run around suicide exploring as the place is very short and with little loot. Be warned there is an obnoxious boss under the rot waterfall in the second part.

As you explore there will be levers near those monument things to raise platforms to allow you to fight the Dragonskin Soldier outside of the rot.

If your just looking to get past it you can sprint across just using a fee potions then 1 flame cleans or bolus and you're good. Exploring it on the other hand, mushroom armor and bloodhound step are your friends.

a gimmicky boss that is weak to a weird weapon, feet and swamp that gives aids. that's his trademark alright.
