every NG+ cycle bring something new, new tier of gear, sets with new abilities, new enemies, new moveset even for bosses, new enemy positioning, new game mechanic, new game mode and so..
thats why is Nioh/Nioh2 fun thru all NG cycles.
Ah man i hope Nioh 3 gets released Nioh 2 was such an amazing game.
Sure but really there is no reason why it couldn't get any better.
These games have good replay value potential.
It would be great if there was at least one secret, top stuff area you could visit only in NG+.
It's kind of annoying when games still don't get the improvement they deserve even after several sequels.
Scale enemies better, more health, more damage etc, add more targets etc, upgrade monsters of the same type to higher tiers and the rest of it.
Thats right I didnt because I went in blind and didnt follow some wiki. Still took me around 100 hours for that first playthrough.
Also why do we not get the option to replay bosses like in Sekiro? So many steps back in their newest IP lol
What I'd have liked for them to have done, given that ER's size is such that major changes in NG+ probably weren't feasible, was to have a modifier applied based on the ending path you choose. So perhaps applying a different shader model (like Demons Souls Remake) and buffs/ debuffs to certain effects based on which Age you picked.
Honestly that would also be neat, giving us an item that could be used on a pedastal infront of the boss room allowing you to challange it in any NG+ / ++ / +++ you want.
or just re-fight the vanilla one for fun.
DS2 apart from being obnoxiously bad every step of the way had the worst idea of NG+ containing upgraded items, which were required for achievement as well, so forcing you to play multiple playthroughs regardless of your preference if you wanted to collect everything, which is quite a popular obsession.
The thing is you cannot make NG+ interesting unless you keep the world, but rearrange things in accordance to the ending for example, but that is a lot of work and might not be feasable if they were already forced to recycle content so heavily. Even tho that would be absolutely amazing, at this point even randomizer would have done more for NG+ cycle, which we might see one day
However retaining difficulty in NG+ is not really possible. Flat increases does not matter, everything will get deleted anyways and you are already know all the stuff by playing through the game, giving more + materials does not do it either because you would just do same thing and max your weapon before fighting first boss anyway. Someone said that Witcher3 did it so NG+ felt difficult despite having access to all the gear from NG, idk what that person is smoking but that is utter lie, NG+ in witcher is a joke difficulty wise.
TLDR: NG+ was not lazy made, it's a bonus feature if you're feeling up for it
Yeah a boss run would have been fun.
