Why is the soundtrack so bad compared to DS3?

Man, it's so obvious so many people's first title was DS3.

It really wasn't that good. It was all very samey. Once you heard Vordt's theme you heard most of what the OST would sound like.

DS1 had the best OST.

Gwyn's theme, O & S theme, Artorias' theme, the haunting background music from New Londo Ruins. So many classics.

As someone who loves BB and DS3 OSTs, I think elden ring has some of the best boss themes in the series (godfrey 1st phase, godrick, mohg, maliketh ancestor spirit). And I find the ambient music ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing especially in leyndell mt gelmir and the eternal cities.

Souls game were pretty niche until DS3 or arguably BB. To see that huge encore for the game's soundtrack is pretty telling then here comes Elden ring with pretty much triple or probably quadruple the amount of sales than DS3's first month then poor reception to the music then yeah I rest my point lol.

The final boss theme for this game has reached 1 million views, and two other songs are about to surpass 1 million views as well and the game's been out for less than two months (not to mention the majority of boss tracks are between 200k to 500k views already); a fraction of the 6 years DS3 has been out. I rest my case.

Didn't play or listen to Demon Souls, I can't remember anything about Sekiro's soundtrack. But Godskin Apostle, Mohg Lord of Blood, and Ancestor spirit are all lovely imo. Along with a few more obviously, but I don't think Elden Ring does too bad at all

Trust me bro... DS3 songs did not have the amount of views this game's songs had at this point in its life. This is still such a stupid argument that views matter at all when it comes to song quality anyways.

Soundtrack on the whole is very underwhelming, especially tunes for areas. It is what it is. Fromsoft prefer to westernize most of their games a lot so its fitting their music isnt great.

I really love The Owl boss theme from Sekiro, and a few of the area themes like Fountainhead Palace or Ashina Castle.
