Anyone else think the roll is slower in this game?
Seriously, it looks and feels like the recovery time between dodges is longer. Not much longer, but it still feels just less swift overall. Anyone experiencing this, or am I just having FPS issues again?

it's faster, if anything...

Okay, just the framerate issues I guess. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I wish I could figure out a way to make this game run a bit smoother...

I kinda assumed the recovery time was slower than DS3 but wasn't sure if it was in my head or not.

if you rock a heavy load you cant roll very gud

pretty sure there is almost double the amount of input latency on rolls in ER than there were in previous games

i'd have to find the sauce to confirm it but yeah it's definitely less responsive on the front end. dont know about recovery frames tho.

Confirmed there does seem to be innate input delay, especially with the dodge, for a lot of users. Though exactly how much of a delay seems to be variable. So the dodge in this game is actually a little bit slower when you press the button, not the dodge itself.

Though I can't tell if this is supposed to be this way, or if this is just due to the usual terrible porting issues with these games.

well the problem is that you dodge when you release the button, not when you click it so that may be confused with input delay.
They made the roll go less distance at medium roll to balance from ds3

The roll felt slower than ds3, thats the first thing i felt after i start playing ER. Many said it is because of the dodge execute on button release.

There are even guide to change the steam controller to make the roll on press instead of release, but also make you always roll once before run.

Well it sucks but it is what it is now.

Well that in and of itself is still input delay, even if its intentional. The question being "is this desirable"? Personally I don't think it is. These games should be getting more responsive, not less.

Arguably it wouldn't take much work to fix it, for the developers (not us, because I have no clue what file to potentially modify). Since the trigger for run is "button held down for X amount of time" simply reduce the value of X. The only tradeoff is sometimes you might accidentally roll when trying to sprint.

It's better than the Sekiro dodge.

Does that actually fix the roll being delayed though? If so I'll happily do it.

There's some lag in the rolling, which makes it feel a bit sluggish in this game, as opposed to DS, where it always felt fast and crisp.

I don't feel it's slower than other FS games I've played, but there's definetly a slight delay that makes the game feel somewhat unresponsive, and I don't really know if it's a bug or if it's intented for artificial difficulty paired with the attack delays enemies have

The delay I’m pretty sure thats always been the case in souls games. Never played ds3 though. But every game always had a Input Queue system; which would feel like a delay.

The rolling does seem a bit slower to me. Added onto the fact its harder to reflex dodge attacks in ER.

Edit: I’ve always been a Fast Roll / Light Weight player. So my opinion on the speed of the roll may be skewed. It’s a lot harder for me to hit the 20% weight for fast roll. When I also want to Fashion Souls / Elden Bling a bit
