i'd have to find the sauce to confirm it but yeah it's definitely less responsive on the front end. dont know about recovery frames tho.
Though I can't tell if this is supposed to be this way, or if this is just due to the usual terrible porting issues with these games.
There are even guide to change the steam controller to make the roll on press instead of release, but also make you always roll once before run.
Well it sucks but it is what it is now.
Arguably it wouldn't take much work to fix it, for the developers (not us, because I have no clue what file to potentially modify). Since the trigger for run is "button held down for X amount of time" simply reduce the value of X. The only tradeoff is sometimes you might accidentally roll when trying to sprint.
The rolling does seem a bit slower to me. Added onto the fact its harder to reflex dodge attacks in ER.
Edit: I’ve always been a Fast Roll / Light Weight player. So my opinion on the speed of the roll may be skewed. It’s a lot harder for me to hit the 20% weight for fast roll. When I also want to Fashion Souls / Elden Bling a bit
