Radagon Wolf finally dead...and this is only the third story boss? I'm in trouble
Took a +3 Rayla Knights summon and a lot of lightning, but finally killed the bloody thing. No wonder 'git gud' become thing for these games and this is implied to be the EASY game FromSoft catalog? To those who managed to just beat Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1 to 3 or Blood Born, my hat's off to you. And if you did the 100% achievement on any or all of these...my god, you guys must be monsters in terms of skill. Or just really persistent.

Most boss difficulty also vary depending on your build. Perhaps you just had a really difficult build to fight against this boss. I once thought it was a good idea to make a pyromancer with fire whip and fire scythe in Dark Souls 3. That run was incredibly rough compared to any other run I did simply because fire infused weapons without applying stagger meant everything became much harder.

You...can...skip...him....I thought he was on the path to the boss. *insert longest f bomb here* Now to look for a different path so I can find the Moon Queen.

So here is my take as someone who finished DS3 , Sekiro and ER without too much problems. (And i didnt use summons, npc or any op stuff like BHS)

Fromsoftware game difficulty is more a meme than real.....

Becoming decent in any multiplayergame like CS:GO,LOL,Dota2 etc is 100times more difficult.

And whats funny is i really really tried to HC SSF in Path of Exile my way to the new bosses of recent chapter..... using my own builds.
guess what i could not do it since it is so much more difficult than any FromSoftware game.

You dont need to be a monster to beat Fromsoftware games.
you just need to be slightly above average and you wont have too much problems at all.

IF you have problem with Radagon Wolf you simply dont have enough damage or enough vigor.
its an open world....
you can even have +9 somber weapon or +13 non somber weapon when doing that fight.

the usual way most players beat Radagon Wolf is just outstat him.
Have more life and more damage than him and trade while evading some of the attacks

Radagon Wolf is very difficult when you have low vigor and low damage.
what makes him easy is that you can simply outstat him because he is an early boss in an open world

He is needed to reach the main boss of that area, they meant that you don't have to fight them as the third story boss because you can go fight a different one before them.

If you want to beat Renalla you have to beat Radagon Wolf.....

but you can fight Renalla anytime you want.... its even possible to fight her after completing the main story

My build currently is:
Vigor - 32
Mind - 14
Endurance - 20
Strength - 17
Dex - 20
Intelligence - 9
Faith - 24
Arcane - 9
Gear is mostly the Exiled Knight armor except with D's helmet and gloves, the two load out talismans (one boostsd only load and other boosts load out, stamina and HP) and +4 winged scythe. The two spells i use are Lightning Spear and Seeking Bolt.

I guess what DeiRowatag tried to say is that the entire Academy of Raya Lucaria is an optional area and can be skipped alltogether as defeating Rennala does not amount to the overall amount of greatrunes needed to enter Lyendell, which is two.

Some difficulty also comes from earlier bosses limiting your options. Unless you farm like a madman and overlevel like crazy (which you obviously shouldn't do, because that's no fun and a waste of time), there is no way to have a finished build at that point. Hell first time playing you're propably unsure what to do with your character at all.

I also had unreasonable difficulty with that particular fight, because what I had at that point was not a good a fit for the fight. Later on there is a much wider array of approaches you can use to bosses, making this less troublesome.

Yeah i didn't mean that, I mean you can fight 2 amongst the 5 available shardbearer and Rennala is not a must fight.

I picked her and the wolf because she had one of the highest % of the ones with a great rune, so figured the wolf was the 3rd main boss. Hard to choose targets since the open world nature does leave it up to you and as one poster said, not like i have a full build yet with a LOT of grinding.

Update: I see why the wolf is so tough, makes up for the moon queen being a pushover. Took her out on the first try, though think part of her challenge is most might be confused how to bring down her shield in phase 1, but i knew about it in advance. if you stay on her in phase two, she goes down fast (seems she did not level her vigor and put everything into mind and intelligence, lol!)

I'd dare say that the main reason Elden Ring is the easiest FromSoftware game is that you have early access to weapons and builds that are rather OP, I won't say that I've been steam rolling the game, far from It. But Radagons wolf can be a pain due to it's mobility.
2 other aspects that makes the game easier is the ability to break the bosses poise for a critical, and the ashes summons are either powerful as hell or tanky enough to allow you get some cheap shots in while they keep the bosses attention.

Bleed is currently king and only a few bosses are immune to bloodloss, and scarlet rot can chip away the the bosses hp to 0 with 1-2 full durations. So there's much cheese opportunities for almost every encounter.

Hope you're enjoying the game!
