What the hell is that giant face corpse under stormveil castle?
The one you can see after fighting the lesser ulcerated tree spirit. Its clearly a giant face, you can see the nose holes, and eyes, or what's left of them, with vertical, almost reptilian looking eyelids.

But then the rest of it seems to just merge into the floor. Its odd, wtf is that?

Makes no sense to be Godfrey. This is a boss, the one with the lion on his back.
That creature is dead while Godfrey is alive and you meet him.

To much god in this game... Godfrey, Godrick... and then Godwin, easy to mix things up

The lore want that sadly, parents gave a name with the same starting letter to their chil

Rennala to Ranni
Marika to Malenia
Godfrey to Godwyn

etc etc

Malenia to Melina

Actually i think it is Milicent her daughter and not Melina
Why then is that the only face that pops up? Are there more around? I can't remember any besides the one in Stormveil.
It's a bit disappointing if that's all it is tho, I expected something more interesting. :(

Melina and Ranni are split instances of one another, similar to Radagon and Marika, only they can be in two different places at once. Not sure what that means though.
Was more or less focused on name similarities, but that is right.
Godrick is child of Godfrey the lion guy and mother Marika
Godfrey himself is just a tarnished warrior of great renown Marika married him then divorce
Godwyn is also a son of Marika and Godfrey but he was assasinated by Ranni the Witch

So Godwyn and Godrick are brothers

Apparently its the husk of Godwyn the Golden souless body merged with the erd trees roots

I don't see no erdtree, major or minor, anywhere nearby stormveil.

It's weird that rogiers involvement in both ranni and fias questlines is missable because it adds a ton of lore information - maybe more than any other source - I completed both quests in my first playthrough without ever speaking to rogiers but doing so in ng+ was surprisingly informative

Edit - sry this isn't off topic, rogiers explains the OPs question, among other things

Yeah because Rogier is Fia lovers

And Ranni is linked to D which kill Fia im not sure the relation between D and Ranni tho
Re: Melina: She mentioned that she was burned and bodiless, that she was born at the foot of the Erdtree, and that her mother told her of her purpose which she had forgotten. There was the Maiden set next to the Scarlet Rot flower next to Malenia in Haligtree, I suspect that was where Melina was 'burnt' to death by the rot. I also think Melina is directly related to Marika, and her purpose was to burn the Erdtree so that Marika, who is imprisoned within, can be freed.

Also, the demi-gods all have names starting with either G.R.R.M., aka George Martin's initials.

I second the question.
I've taken a look at youtube but couldn't find anyone mentioning it and I don't remember any reference in game.
It's been puzzling me since the moment I saw it.

Ranni assasinating Godwyn is some kind of dynasty war. Ranni is also daughter of Marika but different father than Godwyn, her father is Radagan, Marika's next husband after she divorce Godfrey

Slight problem with that.

Marika is Radagon
